As I slowly awoke, I was shocked to feel a mattress under me.  Wondering what was happening I slowly opened my eyes and recognized my room.  While I had a mattress under me, it was thrown on the floor and had no bedding on it.  As I carefully got up from my bed, I wondered what today would bring.

Expecting Tamera or Rafe at any second I quickly changed clothes, not wanting Rafe to catch me unaware, I chose clothes from my pitiful pile that would cover the most flesh as possible. Pulling on a tattered sweater, I wondered how long I had before they came.

After a few minutes I sat down on the new bed and began considering the new factors in my life.  There was the disclosure of the existence of werewolves, gifted humans and even vampires.  Simmering under my calm was the fact that I was now 16 and had been Tamera's and Rafe's prisoner for 2 Years.  Due to the frequent beatings and days of unconsciousness, I had long ago lost track of how long I had endured this hell and I was wondering how much longer I could continue to survive these conditions.  Surely someone had to wonder what had happened to me.

Suddenly become aware of the time, I was shocked to realize that a couple of hours had passed since I awoke and there was still not sign of either one of them.  As a matter of fact, there was no sounds in the house.

Without thinking, I sprang toward the door, praying as I jumped, maybe they forgot to lock me in.   I jerked on the door handle, but, it was locked.  As I stood there holding the handle, all my hopes drained away and I got this horrible feeling that here is where I will die.

Shoulders drooping, I turned back towards the room and  stared at it, not blinking.  Just looking without seeing, not seeing the pitiful pile of clothing and the mattress that served as my bed.  Knowing my fate was staring back at me.

     This was it, nothing more.

Pacing, Rafe fumed as he realized that he had possessed the biggest weapon possible to use to hurt Liam and make him give up the location of the goblet and now, she's gone.

How, to make this new information work towards his advantage?  After all, her friends were only a tool against Kim, Liam's concern would be for his mate, not for her friends.

What could he use against Liam?  There must be some way he could use this for his advantage.  Striding from the building, he saw two guards approaching with 3 skinny girls, 2 humans and one werewolf.  As he watched, a thought crossed his mind, these girls have been looking out for each other and while the two girls are human, they are almost like a mini-pack.  Could they possibly developed, maybe.

Without stopping to think, He seized the the closest girl and shifting, he bit her.  Screaming the girl tried to jerk out of his mouth but he held her tight while growling at the guards, who were cringing just as bad as the girls.  Dropping the first girl, he stalked towards the second girl but the young female werewolf ran towards him, trying to stop his rampage.  Slamming into her, he seized her left leg and with a jerk of his massive head, he tore a large chunk out of her thigh.  As she fell away from him, he snarled and seized the other girl in his mouth.  Inflicting a similar wound on her, he shifted back and without wiping the blood from his mouth, he to,d the guards to throw all three girls in the pit and then he stalked away.

As the guards grabbed the girls and hustled them towards the pit, Rafe smirked to himself.  He'd either have 2 new werewolves or 2 or 3 less mouths to feed come morning.
