My eyes felt extremely heavy as I struggled to open them slowly. The left side of my head was on fire as if someone had hit me with a heavy object. My whole body began to ache as I was starting to be more aware of my reality. What had happened?
I could see my surroundings a bit clearly with my eyes wide open, but I had no idea where I was. This wasn't my home, nor was it one of my friends.
I jolted my body uncontrollably, but I was stuck; strapped down with duck tape to a wooden chair. What have I gotten myself into? My memories seemed to be blurry and distorted.
I hate to face this fact, but it would seem that someone has kidnapped me. The real question was, who would want to kidnap me? Thinking about it in detail gave me an even worse headache than before.
A dim light flickered on above my head, and I decided to look around carefully. Not much was down here in this basement at all, but rather extremely empty. It gave off an eerie vibe, sending chills down the back of my spine, or was something touching my back?
"Lisa?" I heard a faint whisper behind me.
"Who the hell is that?" I asked.
"Don't be too loud. He might hear you."
"He who?"
"Do you not remember what happened?"
"I think I might have been hit on the head pretty hard because my brain still can't comprehend why I've been kidnapped," I said, trying to regain any memory as best as I could.
"Lisa, it's me, Nick. I'm your boyfriend."
"Nick?" I whispered to myself and shook my head.
"He knocked me out first as we both were trying to escape from your car. I have no clue who this guy even is."
"Did he do anything to you?" I asked him.
"I have a few bruises from fighting. What about you? Has he done anything to you?"
"Besides my head, I don't see a single scratch on my body."
Nick sighed and said, "I'm glad he didn't harm you as badly as he did to me."
"How long do you think we'll be down here for?" I asked.
"I don't even know, but we got to try and get out of here before he decides to do something to us."
I then heard footsteps coming down the wooden steps, making creaking sounds. Oh no. I was on alert quicker than Nick was.
"He's coming," I whispered to him. "We have to be prepared."
We both were quiet after that, waiting for this guy to come down the stairs. I wanted to know what he looked like, who he was, and why he took us.
The footsteps stopped, and I could feel another presence with us, just watching.
"I know you're both awake. I could hear your voices from upstairs."
I looked up to the voice who spoke up.
"Your eyes have finally opened up, my princess."
"Excuse me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It's a pity that he is still alive." I heard him whisper.
I analyzed his face a little more, and a flick of light went off in my head.
"Wait a minute, you look familiar," I said, thinking a little bit harder.
"Oh really?" A grin appeared on his face. "Can you take a guess?"
"You know this prick?" Nick asked me.
