After that day my mother never really spoke a word to me, except for when she woke me up to go to school, or going somewhere else other than home for the week. My sister was at a friends house for the week, because of my mom's absence and of course, my mother not trusting me enough to care for my own sister. Although, surprisingly she let me keep my own car ... which made no sense to me, but maybe it was just because she wanted me to get the hell out of here.
I headed up the stairs after trying to convince my mom to get into a more comfortable spot. I've tried for 3 years to get my relationship back with my mother, but yet she can never seem to let go of the accident that had happened. Clearly, she doesn't realize that I was also in a lot of pain, after not only losing, but killing my own father. She took it the wrong way and assumed it all happened on purpose. I had a better relationship with my father in the beginning anyways, I have no idea why she would think like that.
While doing my homework that night, I heard a ding from my phone nearby. I dropped my pencil from my hand and replaced it with my phone. The screen brightened as i turned on my phone and read the text that was sent, and not 2 second later another was sent.
Claire : Dress up, I'm bringing you out for dinner.
Claire : No, that does not mean a t-shirt and sweatpants. ;)
I slid the message to the left and replied :
Reply : Can't, mom's home early ... and drunk. Maybe next time.
I threw my phone back on the bed and continued my work, before I heard another ding.
Claire : Should that stop you from eating? It's 7:00 Yuna, I'll be there in 10 minutes.
After I read the message I threw my head back on the pillow behind me and let out a huge sigh.
What if my mother thinks that I left her again? Another point lost for Yuna.
Should I really care at this point?
I sighed once more before getting out of bed and grabbing a nice but somewhat plain dress. I already knew where we were going, and trust me this place was nice. Her parents are what I dream of and always provide for her, they of course know my story and feel just the opposite that my mom does. They instead treat me like parents, more than my own mother.
I didn't feel like walking in heels for the full night so I just slipped on a pair of flats. I brought down my hair from the bun I had it in earlier and brushed it out. I had naturally straight hair so I didn't have to do much to it.
That's when I heard the door of my room open and saw Claire. She was already dressed up, as I expected her parents told her to do so. She smiled to the sight of me and grabbed my arm, rushing me out of my house.
"Be glad your best friend is taking you out for dinner, don't look so sad" she turned around after telling me and walked out the door, I followed behind.
When I walked out I saw that this wasn't planned by her parents because their car was not in the parking lot, but hers.
"Where are we really going Claire?" I whined stopping in my tracks.
"We're going out for dinner Claire, just not with my parents" She laughed pulling me towards the car.
"You better not be lying..." I said opening the car door and hopping into the passenger's side of the car.
She started the car and drove out of the driveway, making her way to the restaurant ... she wasn't lying, but I wasn't sure why we were alone.
She found a parking spot and got out of the car, and I followed along into the restaurant. Something was off about the whole situation but I just followed along, not wanting to upset her for wanting to leave.
That's when I saw my desperate ex boyfriend in the booth we were heading to. I had broken up with him over a year ago and he's still been obsessed with me, even though I hated the things he did to me just like any other girl would. I never told anyone about the things that had happened, just told people a normal break up story when they asked.
Claire of course thought his obsession was cute, but I took it a different way. Jaebum was not someone I wanted to get back in a relationship with, when I broke up with him, I meant it.
I acted fine with the situation I was put into and slid into the booth, but opposite of him. Jaebum's eyes narrowed and spoke up
"Aren't you going to sit next to your date not Claires?" An eyebrow raised as he asked the question. I looked next to me a realized that Claire's boyfriend, Mark was sitting right next to me. I brought my gaze up to Claire and saw her confused expression.
I sighed getting out of the booth next to Mark and walked slowly over to Jaebum's side. He immediately slid his hand to my thigh, bringing his mouth towards my ear.
"Ive missed you" he whispered and brought his head back looking at me with a smirk.
Shivers went up my spine as he said that. I brushed his hand off my thigh slowly, never making eye contact with him.
"Is something wrong Yuna?" Claire asked.
I looked up at her and down at the table to see the two of their hands intertwined.
"No, everything's fine" I faintly smiled back at her and opened the menu to distract myself from the boy sitting next to me.
Is this really going to happen all over again?
Sorry the second chapter was updated so late. I had lots of school work (etc.) that I had to put before this.
I hope this chapter turned out ok?...
