Alexis

As I watched his boat speed across the sea, gliding as if floating on air leaving droplets to splash into the depths of the never ending ocean, I stared and stared until the boat disappeared over the horizon. Then looked down I still had my paper in my hand and my pen in the other, I placed the pen onto the paper and began scrawling words across the faded lines, sentences and paragraphs flowing out of my system as if I were writing down my fondest memory, memorised and rehearsed, ready to be scarred across the pages of the book.

Once upon Olympus
(This is the name of the story Alexis is writing)

There is a place above the Earth, above the clouds, above the heavens, that not many believe to be true, that not many have stepped foot in, yet there are still story's, legends and tales of the fake, but this is the real, true and forgotten Mount Olympus.
Our story does not start here though, no it starts down on Earth in a small city, on a big farm with a young, confident and bold maiden named, Kendra, but she despised her name making everyone call her Kellie, her name Kendra meant daughter of water. Her name was ironic as she spent most her days in her lake that her father owned, she adored the feeling of the water surrounding her body making her feel protected and she could hold her breath for an extraordinary long period of time, in fact she once fell asleep under water and woke up  two hours later still not needing to rise above the waters for air.
Kendra was the daughter of the towns local farmers, the Senators, they had always been a loving family and had always loved Kendra, even if at times she could be very Angry and rude.

Kendra was never bored, because she always had something to do even when she was a baby her mother would play with her endlessly, when she was 8 her father taught her to look after the farm in between play sessions and that she had turned fifteen she helped her father manage the farm. Tending to the crops that fed all the people on the town, Kendra had grown and was taught to be a bed worker to get the tings you want, you only do not know these lessons if you at rich and spoiled, and have been your whole life.

This reminded Kendra of the stick up rich kids who had never taken the time to even look at Kellie properly that simply glanced saw the recognisable face and either  teased, gloated and simply made her feel down about herself. They always traveled in groups of about twenty girls and were loved by all the other rich and spoiled people who lived in the town. The only place Kellie did not feel insecure about herself was when she was swimming, gliding through the water letting it surround her, hold her weight and pull her under until she kicked her legs letting herself soar under the depths of the water.

On this particular day Kellie had been working hard on the farm and had taken the crops that were ready for selling to the town centre and she had endured six hours of teasing, name calling, and straight out snobbishness, but she still managed to sell all her crops and made a good deal of money. But she knew half of that money would go to taxes and the other half would be spent on seeds and food for the farm and her family, she needed new sandals and some new robes as they were worn out and too small from all the walking and the growing she had been doing. She also wanted them to stop the teasing about what she wore at least, but she knew that if she wanted them she would have to work extra had in order to get them herself without simply asking and receiving in an instant.

So she ran home gave her father the coins to sort out and ran out the barn house once again, she sped to the beach and slowed down to a stroll as she examined the beach shore exploring and searching for full, large shells that she could sell at the market tomorrow.

Kellie had a great eye for spotting hidden shells, but today she could only find enough to fill half her basket, she stood looking at the grey and dismal array of shells she had collected. They were bland and colourless, who would want to buy these? She sat at the edge of the shore letting the sea drift up and over her toes. Kellie spotted a white gleam of moonlight reflecting on the water without hesitating she dived in under the sea and swam towards the moons reflection as she approached the light there was a beautiful indigo-violet shell lying at the bottom of the sea. She tugged at it until the sand let go of its tight grasp on the shell willingly letting her have its beautiful treasure. As Kellie took it in her hands she realised it was a clam shell, she rose above the depths of the sea to examine the clam further in the light of the moon, the shell was a mix between a faded indigo and vibrant violet with a hint of a light lilac purple. The shell itself was the most beautiful she had ever laid eyes on, she stared up at the gleaming moon "thank you" she whispered under breath, but someone still heard her,

Kendra
"Oh no m'lady are you quite alright I did not see you over there, do you need any help?"

I glanced up at a boy I could not quite make out all of his features but from what I could see he looked like a god. I snapped out of my trance and realised he has asked me a question, " oh .....um..... no it's okay I was just a bit hot so I decided to cool myself down, but thank you dearly for asking" I replied.

I swam over to the shore standing up slowly looking down, oh no I had gone into the sea with my robe still on! But as I examined it, it was dry as a bone. The boy took a step back, "how is your robe so dry? Is it magic?"he asked looking stunned and slightly taken aback.

I looked at him apologetically, " I'm so sorry please don't be frightened, no my robe is not magic I am not quite sure what on earth just happened, I am quite taken aback myself" I felt something on my head it was my hair, I could see him looking at it too, I felt it becoming lighter as it absorbed the water and became completely dry too. This time I felt it happen but I did not scream as it almost felt familiar, almost felt like normal.

" what just happened to your hair?, what sorcerous are you?!" He asked/demanded.

" I am no sorceress just a simple farm girl, you are just as confused as I, please do not be alarmed I do not know what is happening but I am in no pain and no discomfort" I say in an effort to comfort him.

" I cannot say that I am not still alarmed but I am glad you are not in pain or at harm." He slowly spoke the words floating away from his lips.

I could not see his face properly until now after all the commotion, he had blue ocean coloured eyes that had courage buried deep inside them, his hair flopped against the sides of his head, framing his gorgeous face, his locks were a deep midnight sky black with slight curly wisps at the end. As I say again he looked like a GOD. . .

A small patch of pink blush came upon his pale skin before quickly disappearing and he smiled calmly as though nothing had happened, I looked away too noticing I had been staring at his for a while now, it was my turn to blush.

"So will I see you here again?" I asked eventually,
He looked at me for a second before confidently replying,

" I hope I do, and if you are not here tomorrow, then I shall come back here again and again until I see you again"

I was blushing like a fat women who had been exercising constantly for the first time in forever, and had now been blessed with a bright red face. I looked away and began to walk until I heard him call,

" wait I did not catch your name" he shouted,

" My name is Kendra, but please call me Kellie" I asked him.

"Okay well then Kellie my name is Hercules, you forgot your basket of shells"
He began to jog towards me slowing down as he reached for my hand and placed the handle of my basket in the middle of my palm.

"Thank you", I managed to breath, "until tomorrow" I said and slowly raised up to peck him on the cheek, he began to blush slightly,

"Yes until tomorrow m'lady"
He waited until I had walked away out of his sight before he walked away and carried on jogging till he was out of her sight.

Until tomorrow I thought before running realising how late it was getting.
