I could feel her stare burning a hole in my back, but slammed the door shut. Another nurse that walked past just when I came bursting out in the hallway, Sophie, looked suspeciously in my direction. They all know who I am. That's because they can hear me at all times. Both the patients and the nurses. My arguing, my screaming, my breakdowns in the middle of the hallway. They could see me too. The blood dripping in a trail after me, while the doctor drags me down to his office to patch me up. Scars all over the place. It was disgusting. That didn't stop me though. Nothing could anymore.
I walked down the hall to my room. The nurse, Sophie, followed me silently. Didn't dare to say anything in case I would snap at her again. Like last time. Soon I was safe in my bed again, pulling the sheets up to my chin. After some time laying there, breathing heavily, I stood up and walked frantically back and forth in the tiny room. Will. That's what I needed. Just needed to see my brother again. I can't even remember the last time they let me see him. That's why I sprinted through the halls to find Sophie. After some running, I bumped into her. She was about to give me the whole "don't run" speech, but I cut her to it.
"I need to see my brother, I said breathlessly."
She looked at me with shock obvious in her eyes. "You know you can't do that, he's just preventing your treatment from going forward. I thought we were clear about this."
"Are you seriously going to try stopping me from seeing my own flesh and blood?" My voice went desperate, while I started to ramble about how unfair it was that I had to be locked up in this mental institution shit. My eyes started to water and I stopped, looking her in her eyes. Maybe that's just what I do? Start crying so that people can't get mad at me. Like some sort of defense system.
"Okay, okay just... I'm gonna go call him." She stuttered and quickly went to her office."Yeah, you go ahead and do that." I muttered. I literally just stood there waiting. After some minutes a man came striding towards me, looking me straight in the eyes. That was not my brother. What the fuck is going on? I could sense that something was wrong. He was now close enough for me to see the badge. He was a guard. So my brother isn't coming then? I panicked. Turned around and sprinted through the hall, but heard the guard running behind me. What was happening? What did I do? The questions buzzed around in my head. My feet hurt. I was fast, but tired and exhausted from the lack of vitamins. In the end, he was going to get me anyway. I stopped and turned to the man. Confusion was clear in his eyes, and behind him Sophie were standing gasping for air. The first thing that came to my mind was his height. Like seriously? At least two heads above me. kinda scary too..
