Once there was a beautiful blue flower named Maddie. Maddie was in love with a handsome blade of grass named Pato. Maddie and Pato loved each other very much. One day word came around that the field they lived in was going to get mowed. Maddie and Pato decided they could not live without each other. Maddie decided to starve herself so she and Pato could die together. Then the day came. Screams could be heard from other grass that were being ripped away from life. Maddie was very weak now, she was barely holding on to life. As the mower got closer, she and Pato said their goodbyes. "I will see you in heaven Pato" and she died. Pato stood ready to face his death and ready to see his love again. The mower came closer and closer, then turned. The mower turned and left. Pato was left alone. Pato couldn't stand the thought he let Maddie die. Pato decided he would have to starve too.

In heaven.... Maddie waited patiently for Pato to join her. After a few hours she got worried. The mower should have come by now. Then a horrible thought came through her mind. What if Pato is dead but didn't get to come to heaven? Maddie decided if he didn't show up after 3 days she would go to the underworld to be with him. 3 days later he still hadn't come. Maddie went to the gate. "Are you sure you want to do this?" The guard asked "there is know way back". "I'm sure" she replied and stepped through the gate with no regrets.

"Maddie, Maddie where are you? I'm here I have finally come!" Pato shouted as he entered heaven. A rabbit looked up at him. "She is gone Pato she is no longer here" it said. Pato stood confused for a moment then realized what he meant. He knew exactly where he had to go to find her.

Maddie looked around. Everything was dark and empty. She started to look around. Then she felt a sharp pain in her head. Everything hurt. She started to see people appear on the ground suffering. "Welcome to an existence of constant pain" one figure said. "Have any of you seen a blade of grass named Pato?" "No" they said. "No one has come since last Friday." "That was before Pato died!" Thought Maddie. "Is it possible get didn't die? Have I made a mistake?"

Pato walked up to the gate. "Another one?" The guard asked. "Some flower named Maddie came through here the other day looking for some grass names Pato" "That's me!" Pato said eagerly. "I must get to her!" "Ok" the guard said and let him through.

Maddie was sitting on the ground. The pain had gotten worse. "What have I done?" She asked. Then she heard "Maddie Maddie! Please tell me your here!". "Pato?" She said standing up. Maddie and Pato stared at each other for a moment then ran and embraced each other as they collapsed onto the ground. "I thought I'd lost you!" Maddie said. "At Lear we will be together now, even if we will suffer
forever" they hugged each other as a single tear fell down their cheek.

Story based off of Maddie's idea.
