"Oh lord, this place is so huge!" Rey whispers to herself as she walks down the gravel path and off the greyhound bus. She struggles to lift her duffle bag as she's making her way down the rocky path. She keeps walking until she starts to hear some others talking behind her.

"I can't wait to figure out who is gonna be the guest celebrity vocal teacher! Oh my gosh! I just love her hair Poe! Don't you babe?" He says to him as Rey adjusts her hair in all awkwardness. "Me too! Maybe it's a pop star, or a metal artist! Who knows! But, I really like her hair color too Finn! It's so natural! " Poe says back to Finn as they continue to talk. "Omg, we're being so rude rn, let's introduce ourselves to her!" They speed up their pace to catch up to her struggling with her songbooks.

"Here, let us help you with that! Hey, my name's Finn." He says as he takes two of the books into his arms to help her out. "And I'm Poe! You look like a new face this year!? So happy to meet you!" He smiles as he takes the remaining books she's struggling to carry. "Hi guys! I'm Rey! So what's this I hear about? Is there going to be a real professional singer coming here this summer?!" Rey starts to squeal as she clenches her bag strap tighter. "Yes! And he's going to pick one lucky person to perform a duet on their new upcoming album!" Poe says even louder with excitement. "That's so awesome! When will we know who it is?" Rey says eager as can be. She can't believe that someone is going to be able to coach her, let alone someone famous! She glances at her phone to check the time but sees 21 unread messages from Kyle. She sighs and puts her phone on do not disturb. She's so done with all the lies, insults, and cheating. And the hitting... She holds her face at the thought, as if she somewhat feels the sting lingering on her left cheek from last week. She takes a deep breathe and they walk in together to the registration table. "We will know tonight at the Star Stage at 7 p.m. Tonight they are going to perform on stage for the whole camp! It's gonna be off the chain!" Finn says as he strikes a pose and they all laugh. "Come on let's figure out who our roomies are!" Poe says as he brings his shoulders around Finn and Rey.

"Rey Kenobi! Ah, so good to see a new and beautiful face! You're assigned cabin 3B! Your roommate will be Maz Kanata! Don't worry, you will love her." Leia says to Rey with enthusiasm as she hands her the key. "Thank you!" Rey says with a smile as she waves bye to Poe and Finn as they wait in line. "Hey girl! You must be Rey Kenobi! You must be my roommate since we have the same color key. I love your hair girl, so hip!" Maz says with a smile and takes Rey into a hug and she smiles back. "Hey! I love your headphones! Blue is like my favorite color!" Rey says back as she admires all her musical gadgets she has behind her. Rey could tell they were going to get along just fine. "Thanks girl! So what's your talent? You look like you're a professional!" Rey says as she unlocks the door of their cabin and sets her bags onto the ground. "Nah girl, I'm far from a professional. I'm an aspiring rap artist and I dabble a little in music mixing." Maz says as she takes out her laptop and plugs in her speaker system. Rey takes out her guitar, ballet shoes, mic and amp. "Ah, so you're a dancer...musician...and singer? Dang girl you must have mad talent!" Maz says as she looks at all Rey's stuff. "I just love expressing myself through music, but I really love to sing. One day, just maybe I could become a star." Rey says as she starts to blush from her compliment and hope of a future shine in her eyes. She grabs her poster and tapes it onto the wall and smiles. "Omg! You like Kylo Ren too?! I love his music! It's always poppin'! Plus he's a cutie if ya know what I mean!" Maz says with a wink and they both begin to laugh. "I've always dreamed of meeting him. I've had the biggest crush on him since middle school! Like I would always put on his songs in my room and dance around the room like a fool! I still am a little crazy about him." Rey admits as her cheeks glow pink and they both begin to laugh. Maz then plugs up her phone to the speaker system and plays one of his songs. They both grab each others hands and they grab hairbrushes and lip sync to each other. The songs ends and they stand their dancing still like idiots. Rey is interrupted by her phone buzzing again and she begins to sigh. "Do you know where a piano is? I feel like playing for a bit to get some of this mess off my mind." Rey says as she glances back at her phone and sees there are 7 missed calls from Kyle. "Yeah in the mess hall, you need to talk about it? Cause I'm here if you need anything okay?" Maz says as she holds her hand lightly in reassurance. " Don't worry, I'll tell you all the deets later. I just got to wrap my head around what's happening. It's time to move on from this." Rey says with her head held high trying to hold back the tears from all the hurt. "Okay girl, I'll meet you at the Star Stage at 7. Don't forget the guest star performing!" Maz says as she continues to unpack and Rey waves to her while she heads out the door...
