Leah

Leilani was driving on this particular day and I was sitting in the passenger seat, high as a kite. To this day I have no idea who she copped from that day, but it damn sure was worth it. I leaned her seat back and closed my eyes as the sun beamed on us. It was march by then and spring was coming back around.

"Girl, you found a prom date yet?" Leilani asked me.

"Nahh, but I know Malik punk ass will go with me." Malik was my ex, not my most recent boyfriend, but the most important at the time. He and I dated for a whole year during my sophomore year of high school, and I claim him as my first real lover. That boy had me ur completely stupid. But he was a catch, smart as a whip, athletic and handsome. He would remind you of Michael B. Jordan. Anyway, we ended terribly that year when I learned that he was dating some other girl for half of our relationship. It hurt me bad. The rest of my relationships after that were based on sex, because I was so pressed trying to get over him. I would get lonely and call him sometimes, just to let him come over my house and confuse the hell out of me. But after junior year, I decided not to let him have control over my heart. We remained associates and I knew he would be available for prom if need be.

"I'm taking that boy Brandon in the eleventh grade." Leilani said, I started cracking up.

"Girl, his ugly ass!"

"So, he can drive and he willing to pay for his own shit, the fuck." Leilani said, I rolled my eyes, she was getting defensive over a boy we didn't even know. Sometimes we had those gaps in our friendship, she was such a hot head.

"Alright, can you drop me over M's?" I asked.

"So wassup wit y'all?" She changed the subject.

"Ummm nothing, these past two months been coo. That's my nigga forreal, I mean yeah we have mind shattering sex but, that's my friend, kinda like me and you." I said to her, we both started cracking up.

"Nahhh bitch! That's yo man." She said,

"Look, M ain't a relationship typa guy. I don't wanna force him into nothing. He's real honest with me about like the other girls he deal with and shit, atleast he ain't no liar like Malik." I said.

"Ugh, here you go with this Malik shit, that was two years ago! Let it go... Malik ain't thinkin bout you and comparing you to his new bitches." She had a point.

"You right, who cares about Him.... I'm just saying, I'm really feeling M right now." I said as we approached the house. I stepped out, grabbed my bag and called M.

"Come to the back."

I walked the back of the house and I noticed M at the screen door.

"Hey Baby." I smiled a big smile as we embraced each other. I hadn't seen him in over a week because he was out of town on business. We kissed deep and long, I could sense that he missed me and I felt special forreal.

"What's goin on, Ma?" He asked me as he took my book bag and we walked upstairs. I noticed Dolly on the couch and we spoke briefly before M and I carried our conversation on.

"Nothing, I miss you ..." I said to him as we walked in his room, I grabbed the remote and turned straight to lifetime. One of my favorite movies was on.

"I miss you too. Damn Leah why you always wanna watch this lovey dovey shit?" He asked as I kicked off my UGGs and took the cardigan I had on off. I was wearing a tank top and some leggings. I watched M strip down to his boxers and a tshirt, I stared at his body inconspicuously.

"I guess I'm a romantic at heart." I said, it was true, I really love to see happy endings in love stories.

"Of forreal? Me too."
