Aria:
I woke up next to Luke who had books open and was writing things into his notebook. Confused, I looked at him and sighed.
"Good Morning," he said.
"What are you working on?"
"Good morning to you too," he laughed. "I'm studying for that physics exam we have tomorrow."
"Physics?"
"Yes, Aria... physics."
Luke reached towards his nightstand and picked up a tray of food and gave it placed it in my lap as I sat up.
"Bon Appétit"
"What's this?"
"Your breakfast, stupid. Eat up so we can study."
"I don't want to study," I whinned.
"I never thought I would hear Ariana ever say those words in my life. I'm shocked," he sarcastically laughed.
"I never want study but do I have a choice?"
"You always seem so happy when you're reading."
"How would you know?" I smirked.
"Eat up, smart ass," he snapped.
"What if I don't want to?" I teased.
"Hey Aria, look over there," Luke said, pointing to something on the roof.
There was absolutely nothing on the ceiling. I kept my eyes fixed to the nothingness that he was pointing at.
"Luke, what am I supposed to be loo-"
He shoved a half a piece of bacon in my mouth.
"Now, shut up and eat. We have to study."
I sat there and quietly ate. I watched Luke do practice problems in his textbook. I studied him carefully. I focused on the way he twirled his pencil between his finger when he read. He would bite his lip when he was trying to figure something out. It wasn't awkward silence. It was comfortable...for me at least.
"Now, I think that you're stalling and avoiding doing school work. Hurry up, Aria!" He whined.
I kept eating and but slower this time to annoy him.
"It's not polite to stare," he smirked.
"It's not polite to stare," I mocked.
"Aria..." he said in a more stern tone of voice. "I'm serious. I don't want you to fall behind. I understand that you are going through things but seriously- I know how much you care about school."
"It's the only thing I can do right."
"That's not true."
"That's not true," I imitated.
"You're really starting to get on my nerves."
I kinda thought that I was being funny even though I knew I was just been plain annoying. I usually wasn't like this. I wasn't like this at all really. I was pretty boring most of the time.
God, he was so beautiful.
Was it even appropriate to call a guy beautiful?
I watched him as the skin around his temples tightened as he clenched his jaw. I could tell he was a little angry.
I knew that I should've stopped but I didn't care. Trying to ease the tension, I leaned into him and quickly kissed him on the cheek.
I was scared.
I hadn't really shown much affection to Luke. He probably thought that I didn't like him. Surprised, Luke blank stared at me. He looked back at his paper with the same empty look he always had.
I was a little annoyed by his cold reaction. I finally finished eating. Luke half-smiled and shook his head as if trying to relive the memory.
I put the plate down and looked over Luke's work. I scanned his answers as he wrote, clearly making him uncomfortable.
I couldn't help it.
A lot of his answers were wrong.I knew that he wasn't good in physics. I already had taken the class last year. I was a teacher assistant in his classroom. Our teacher practically begged me to be his assistant.
"I know. I know... all my answers are wrong. Tell me to my face, Aria."
"I didn't want to be rude."
"Ugh, I can't fucking do this. It's too hard."
"Don't say that. If you wanted me to help you, all you had to do was ask. You didn't have to tell me to hurry up. I would've stopped."
"I don't wanna ask you for help. You make me feel stupid."
"You're really smart, Luke. I'm not just saying it."
"That means nothing from you. I hope you know."
"Thanks for breakfast."
"I didn't make it," he snapped. "My mom did."
"My mom did," I mocked.
"Fuck you, Ariana."
"Fuck you, Lucas."
"That's not my name."
"That's not my name," I echoed.
He put down his pencil and pushes his book to the side and straddled me. He smashed his lips against mine and I don't know what he was feeling but I instantly felt uncomfortable. I wondered what he was thinking.
"What are you doing?" I laughed.
Suddenly, I got sweaty. Maybe Luke was just too close and maybe I was in wearing warm clothes. I was scared for some reason. Fear spread throughout my body and I just froze there. I felt powerless. I know I could've easy told Luke to stop but I felt like I couldn't. He wasn't that much of a hard person to talk to.
"Fuck, Aria. You're being too loud. They are going to hear us."
Suddenly, Luke's door opened. I just got saved from having to tell Luke that I was uncomfortable. Luke quickly shot up from me and looked over to the door. I noticed a familiar tan person standing at the frame.
"Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt anything but your shower is broken," Calum mumbled to himself.
"Just use the one downstairs," Luke responded with a worried look on his face.
