Chapter 5
(Duncan's POV) -Wow, new POV!-
It was the weirdest feeling. I was there, her hand in mine, then I was really cold, and felt like I had been put on a spinning roundabout. When I opened my eyes, I saw I was on my hands and knees, but no longer inside the forcefield. I was at Honeydew Inc., and I decided to sit down and wait for her to appear next to me. Suddenly, there was a boom in the distance, making me jump to my feet. I knew the bomb had gone off, and she still hadn't come here. There was no need to panic, right? Infinity doesn't have to come here, she could go anywhere. But still...
With the powersuit, I flew incredibly quickly towards Blackrock. As much as I'd hate to admit it, I cared for her, and didn't want her to get hurt. Just as I suspected. The bomb had gone off, dampened by the forcefield, but the whole area inside had been completely obliterated. Then the forcefield disappeared, and without thinking I bounded inside. When I couldn't see her, I started to panic, for I could clearly see a lot of blood, and what looked like a part of an arm and leg. I fell to my knees, face in my hands, crying.
She's dead. It's my fault.
(Infinity's POV) -Jeez, I don't permanently kill any off my main characters!-
Such a strange feeling. Not knowing who or what you are. Just walking on pale grey clouds, not seeing anything else. Then I felt a strange shock through my body, and I fell to the floor-clouds. Another shock, and another. With a third I started to sink through the clouds, and as I grasped to get a hold, I fell through, plummeting to the dark lands below.
I woke up on a cold, hard, metal table, and realised I couldn't move my arms or legs.
"Good. You're alive."
I turned my head to see... Rythian. Then everything came back to me, up until the explosion, then now. I attempted to growl, but I just coughed and started to choke on what tasted like blood, so I turned my head to the side and spat it out, gasping for air.
"You shouldn't try anything. After all, you're missing an arm and a leg, and still mangled from the explosion."
Oh Notch, the pain just came back. I screamed, crying, occasionally coughing up more blood that my body couldn't afford to lose.
"Now, I'm sure you wouldn't mind if I use some science on you, seeing as you love science-boy." He smirked. "Of course, I hate science, so I'll add some magic too."
Magic. Magic. I can get myself out of here with magic. Except I couldn't. I was too weak... something was missing. I couldn't feel the comforting weight of my pendant thing against my chest. It was gone.
"You won't mind of I take your bandanna of, will you?" He said, coming forwards and reaching out.
Magic, now would be a good time to come!
I felt him tug on the fabric.
I did the only thing I could right now. I closed my eyes, and made an ear-piercing scream, and he hesitated for a second. Just enough for me to get my concentration back and do the water teleportation spell. I opened my eyes again, and saw with relief that I was off the table thing, and now on the floor away from him.
"How did you get over there!" He yelled, storming over.
I wanted more than anything to teleport again, but the last one had left me drained, so I just lay there, hopeless. Rythian wrenched the bandanna off my head, along with hair, and I whimpered. He gasped, taking a step back, then grinned with triumph.
"The legendary water elf, in my possession. That would explain the necklace." He said, pulling it out of his pocket and swinging it from side to side.
The water elf, as in, the one in that book? But surely that can't be me, right, I'm just a person...
Right?
"Hm. By that expression it seems you didn't know. Then why did you try to get away when I attempted to take it off the first time?" I noticed his eyes weren't glowing as bright as they used to be.
Then the shine came back as he shoved me roughly back onto the table, strapping me back in.
"This will only hurt a huge amount. Don't worry..." He chuckled darkly, then sauntered out, and a light above me lit up.
I realised it was a laser, and as I uselessly watched, it burnt off what was left of one leg and arm, and then went on to the working ones, at the shoulder and waist. Then what looked like some robotic, magical limbs floated down, and fitted where my real ones used to be. Rythian came back in, nodded, pleased, then to my horror I couldn't see in one eye. With my good one I could see a reddish-pink glowing orb float towards me, then I could see again, but with a slight coloured tint to my vision. The straps let go of their hold, and he pushed me forcefully up.
"Move." He barked angrily, shoving me off the table, and somehow I landed on my robotic feet.
Obediently, I tottered forwards, holding my arms out straight for balance. I flexed my hands, then scanned the room with my new eye thing, and it showed a weak point in the wall. Without thinking, I ran towards it, unbelievably fast, then pushed through with both hands. The wall shattered and I ran away, following the waypoint in my eye that was at Honeydew Inc. Then I realised that I could see 'Duncan' as a separated marker, and quickly zoomed towards him. As I approached, I saw the forcefield had gone down, and as soon as I saw him crouching at the bottom, I stopped. Doubts started to cloud my mind. He'd know I was the water elf, he'd see what Rythian did to me... would he take me as a freak?
I shook my head, determindly continuing, and soon I was behind him. He spun around, probably hearing my footsteps, and held out his power glove with a glowing blue sphere of electricity.
"Who are you?" He asked, and I noticed his eyes were red and his cheeks were wet from crying.
I bowed my head, tears forming in my real eye, before whispering, "Infinity Waters..."
I was greeted with silence, and I looked up with tears tracking their way down my face. Duncan looked shocked, almost appalled.
"It's ok. I just wanted to let you know I'm alive... if this could be called living..." I murmured, before running off in a random direction.
