As Ryan and I run down the street away from the bombing, I realize I forgot my ring. I almost want to shout at him so we can go back and get it but I keep running further away. I wish I can go back to before the plague even started.
A few weeks Earlier. I wake up to my screeching alarm clock. I despise mornings Because I get little to no sleep at nights. I get out bed and stumble to my bathroom to get ready for school. I cut my shower water up to scorching hot. Before I get in, I connect my phone to my house speaker blasting my Spotify. I jump into the shower and I let the warm water hit my back. I didn't realize that I had been in the shower for that long until the water turned cold. I get out of the shower and go to my giant walk-in closet. This is normally the hardest part of my day: picking out my outfit for the day.
I normally do it the night before but I had too much homework. It took me a whole 30 minutes to pick out my outfit. The final product is a black lace crop top with High wasted red and black plaid shorts, topped off with my black high tops. I don't wear a lot of makeup so I put on some winged eyeliner and red lipstick. After that, I put on my jewelry. I put on my black Gemini choker and the ring that my dad gave me. My dad gave me a ring right before he died. He was ill with lung cancer. He was on his deathbed and was worried about me. I haven't taken it off since. Once I finish I go downstairs to wait for my best friend Ryan to come to pick me up. We have been next door neighbors for as long as I can remember. I debate on whether or not to eat anything when I get a call. I look at my phone and see its Ryan calling.
" Hey Ryan," I say excitingly dancing around. I just realized my music was still playing.
" Hey Sasha," he said laughing at my happiness. " I'm outside bye." He hangs up the phone and I just look at it. I cut my music off and grab my stuff. When I go outside I shut the door and walk to the car. I could hear the music before I even got to the car. When I get in I turn it down.
" Hey, what was that for," he asked.
" Prevention of hearing loss," I tell him. We drive the rest of the way jamming to the music at an acceptable volume level. When we get to the parking lot I hop out of the car. When Ryan finally got out of the car we made our way to the building. Once we get inside I see some of our other friends. We walked up to them.
" Hey guys," I yell getting dirty looks from all of the administrators. They all said their hellos. There was six of us in the ' group,' there was Me, Ryan, Max, Aidan, Brianna, and Bethany. I hang out with Ryan the most out of the group. Ryan and I sat down at the table.
Max looks up from his phone, " Do you guys want to hang out tonight." There was a chorus of yeah and yes so we all agreed. Then I remembered my parents weren't home.
" My parents will be out tonight so we can hang at my place," I suggested. I forgot to mention my parents are very wealthy. I try not to tell people when I first meet them but I've known these guys forever." They're going to Paris tonight." They always travel and are never at home. The group was very excited. Just then the bell rung. We all went our separate ways. Except for Aidan and I. We have 1st period together We walk together having small talk until we get to the classroom. I sat in the middle and he sat in the front. I didn't really have any other friends beside them. So I just sat in silence. The day went by really fast and the next thing I knew was that I was at lunch. I usually don't eat lunch so I sat down on Ryan's lap and pulled out my phone.
