We are living in a world where we are obsessed with social media and our phones. And that affects especially teenagers. Because we see what society wants us to look like and we are just insecure teenagers that want to fit in. I feel that girls have this pressure, that they need to look a special way. Because that is what society tells us we should look like, and I feel that social media have a big voice in this one.
Not all girls wear makeup and makeup isn't just for girls, boys can wear it too. I feel that makeup is like a mask you put on every morning. It can hide your dark circles under your eyes after crying yourself to sleep last night. But maybe not all girls have big eyes, rosy cheeks, a slim face, red lips and flawless skin. So I don't know why society tells us that we need to look a special way. A lot of girls feel insecure about their looks so they use makeup to "fix" it up. But that's wrong. You are beautiful just the way you are and you need to understand that. Almost no guy wears makeup. But I don't understand society, if your don't wear makeup then you're ugly, if you have a face full of makeup then it's just too much! Should I just rip off my face, because that would make it easier for everyone?
But why? Being a teenager isn't easy and everyone knows that, because you are insecure and start to think about what people say about you. We are thinking too much about our looks, and we shouldn't. We shouldn't think that we need to wear makeup, have clothes from expensive brands because no one really cares if you have a bag from Michael Kors, shoes from Nike or clothes from Gant. And when you get older you will look back and remember that you wasted money on so much makeup and that you sat late at night because you were trying to figure out the perfect outfit.
Girls have this pressure that they need to look good every single second. Don't you realize that you cause a lot of trouble? You make people think that they aren't beautiful or good enough for this world. And that causes a lot of suicides and depressions. Society, you tell young girls that they should be skinny and you tell boys that they should be strong. You make girls think that they should lose weight and you tell boys to gain weight. And some girls start to think that they aren't skinny enough so they just stop eating. And we can blame society for it. Food disorders usually affect more females than males. Because women think that they need to be skinny, because that is how society tell young women that they should look like. 30 million people of all ages have food disorders, and that is only in the U.S.
But how would you feel if you needed to look beautiful everyday, that you needed to be smart and healthy at the same time? Some people can't just take it anymore.
"Just because someone's always laughing on the outside doesn't mean that they aren't dying on the inside" -Unknown .
I feel that a lot of people keep their feelings to themselves, because they don't want to drag other people into what they are going through right now. But why? If you keep your feelings to yourself you will explode at the end, and that will hurt everyone that you love. If you keep your feelings to yourself then at some point it will be just too much, so you will explode like a volcano. People need to understand you're beautiful and gorgeous in your own way. Don't let anyone make you feel ugly, because you are perfect just the way you are.
