Klance

Keith sighed as he spotted the blue paladin. "Lance, it's freezing. What the hell are you doing out here?"

Lance hummed. "These stars... They look just like the stars at home."

The red paladin paused, then tilted his head back. He stared a moment before smiling. "You're right. There's even just one moon, maybe just slightly larger than ours."

"Yeah... Hey, Keith?"

"Hm?"

"Since we're not on Earth, where do you think my soul will go?"

Keith looked back down at Lance with furrowed brows. "What do you mean?"

Lance shrugged. "Well, I'm kinda religious. I believe in God and Christ, but... Do they this far from Earth? If I die, will they be able to take my soul to heaven with them?"

With another sigh, Keith sat in the sticky, gray grass with Lance. "I think God will find a way to bring you home, Lance." Lance smiled and closed his eyes. Warmth fluttered within Keith's chest. Keith took Lance's hand. "You'll be the brightest, gaudiest Angel in heaven."

Lance snorted, then burst out laughing, clutching his stomach. "K-Keith!" He gasped, tears in his eyes. The red paladin smiled and shrugged. "Th-that's true." Lance stuttered as he managed to calm himself down. "It's true. Can't deny it."

Keith hummed and cupped Lance's face. "Now keep that smile on your ugly face."

"You know you love this face."

Keith shook his head, then pressed his lips to Lance's. "I'll let you believe that."

Keith grunted, jerking in his seat. "Quiznak! I've got drones on my tail!" He shouted into the comm.

"I got you!" Hunk shouted, literally barreling his lion through the wall of Galran drones.

"Thanks, big guy." Keith sighed and dove his lion down to help Pidge.

"I don't know what they're gathering up there," Shiro began, looking up at the building ball of black energy, "but it looks nasty. Avoid it at all costs."

"Will do, dad." Lance sniggered, causing the other four to groan or sigh. "Anyway, someone wanna help? My back leg is crushed and my tail won't shoot. All I got is my mouth and shit."

Pidge muttered under her breath while Shiro shook his head. "Yeah, buddy. I'm on my way. Just come closer to me and further from that village. We can't risk the civilians lives."

"Yes sir!" Lance gave a quick salute, then grunted as his lion was jostled by a blast from a drone. "Quiznak!"

The battle dragged on, much longer than it should have. The drones wouldn't let up, the battle cruisers constantly fired their ion cannons and the black ball of energy grew. The paladins were drained and so were their lions, but they had to keep fighting.

Lance's lion faltered, his lion, Hunk's lion, and Keith's lion the most damaged. "Hey, Keith..." Lance murmured, voice course. "I wanna take you some where nice after this battle."

Keith frowned as he dodged another wave of blasts. "Lance... Like where?"

"A... A beach, or something. Yeah. A beach." Lance smiled and dove forward.

Hunk and his lion were grounded, so they couldn't form Voltron.

Keith smiled. "You know, the others can hear us."

"I know." Lance whispered. "Hi, guys."

"Hey, buddy. You're doing great up there. Just stay awake a little longer until I get yellow fixed." Hunk piped up. "I'll get him up and running in just a few tiks."
