Sitting with a cap and gown was maybe the least exciting thing Tara had done the past few years. Sitting next to Dick with his cap and gown on she smiled at him. He on the other hand was one of the best thing that she had going for the past few years. He was as enthused about all of this as she was. Graduation from High School compared to saving the world over and over again was sort of funny. Tara looked down at her hands that held her speech about how she started school here with hardly anything left to motivate her to keep trying. Then the people she met and the woman who adopted her changed her life forever. The speech was really nice, she made it a few months ago for this very moment. Tara didn't know how she really felt about it now though. She felt like this moment was going to end with empty words to all these people listening. Sighing Tara moved her now longer hair behind her right ear.
"You don't want to use that speech do you?"
Dick asked look over to Tara with a concern look. He knew that look she had, it was the look of disappointment. His only worry though was her disappointment was with herself. To him she was it, she was really the only reason he was completely grounded after these past few years. He relied on her to keep him sane sometimes and sometimes to distract him from the missions. He had become Nightwing not too long ago letting another protege take over the title Robin. She followed him and helped him out and in returned he did the same with her. Looking at his very disappointed girlfriend Dick grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
"You know I didn't let you get first in class. You beat me fair and square." He said while she turned to him and nudged him with her shoulder.
"You dork. I'm just smarter than you."Tara said squeezing his hand back.
"I don't want to do this speech. I will though, because some of us aren't so good with using normal words." She teased while Dick snorted a little.
"Got me there." He said while he looked up to see Bruce getting on stage to talk about how well this senior class has done and that he was proud to see that his scholarships have proven to help young individuals grow and see a bright future ahead of themselves.
"With that said. I am proud to present to you, your first in class Tara Daniels. Scholarship holder that past three years of the Wayne Scholarships." Bruce said with a smile while holding his hand up to Tara.
Dick was clapping while Tara stood up and started to walk up the stage to Bruce and smile. Dinah, Oliver, and pretty much the entire team was cheering making Tara's face tint with pink.
"Tara." Bruce said in a serious tone making her look from her friends to the rather intimidating Bruce Wayne.
"I'm proud of you." He said while Tara's eyes grew to the sincerity in his voice. Smiling she took his hand and shook it, to only then pull Bruce into a big hug.
