Dr. Ziegler was back in her old office in Watchpoint: Gibraltar after she had gotten the message from Winston to reactivate Overwatch. This doctor knew the risk she was taking by coming back to this place after the law forbid them from even speak of this organization. She knew she could lose her medical license, or even worse, get arrested. She had been stationed in Switzerland, working with your regular cases of patients all in a large hospital when she got her call. When she spoke with the gorilla, she realized that they really needed her. She hesitated at first, but she knew where she was really needed.
"A doctor's job is never done." She said to herself, looking through the old files that rested on the shelves of her former office. She picked up the ones with the names of the operatives that she knew were here now.
"All these old names... Song, Oxton, Winston, Shimada, Morrison...." The doctor picked up the old file of the man she once called commander, looking through the old dates and checkups she had made. She laughed to herself at the small comments and notes all over his file, something she did when she had fallen for the American soldier. She knew that he was alive, Winston had given her the news while they talked on her first day back. He was going to be his first patient.
"Keep it together Ziegler, you'll be fine. It's just Jack. An old friend... Who you thought was dead." She sighed and put the file aside, needing a moment to think. She had heard rumors and seen news about a vigilante taking down groups like Los Muertos and bringing justice upon people who infiltrated the old bases that were marked with Overwatchs name. She didn't know it was him, but somehow....
"Angela...?" She heard a voice say, a familiar voice that could make the hairs on her skin stiffen every time. It was him... He was here. She took a deep breath and turned to face the man, surprised when she saw him after so long.
He wore a blue and white leather jacket with a black pair of pants and combat boots. His hands were covered in black and red gloves and a belt around his waist kept his ammunition at arm's reach. His face was what really had her wondering if this was the Jack she knew in the past. He wore a black mask with a red vison, hiding his identity from anyone. She couldn't help but notice a scar peeking out from the top part of his visor, right over his forehead. His hair was white now, the years that passed clearly affecting him.
"I didn't believe it when the ape told me you were here. I came as soon as I could." He spoke in almost an apologetic tone, like if this encounter was the reunion they had planned and he was years late to. The doctor went up to him and looked him over, smiling to herself.
This was him alright, those words and that tone were the same man she knew in the past years.
"You have changed since the last time we saw each other Morrison, or should I call you Soldier 76 now?" Angela teased, needing the light joke to keep herself from jumping at him. She was more than glad to see him but nervous and frightened all at once. She wanted to know what happened after the blast, what happened all those years ago, how many battle scars he had now. So many questions were popping into her head, and she wanted the answers desperately.
"For you doctor, I'll always be Jack." The man said, reassuring the woman slightly.
"Well, might as well get started. You can explain everything to me later." She tapped the examination table, the man raising a brow under the visor.
"Later? What are we going to do now?" Jack asked the woman, but willingly sat down where she indicated.
"You're the first person I'm going to give a physical to update all these old files." The doctor explained, writing down the new section on the document that was tagged J. Morrison.
"What? That ape didn't say anything about that." The man complained.
"No need to get fussy. Come on now, take that jacket off."
