Alyssa's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning in an bed that wasn't mine and a stranger next to me. Let's just say I was pretty freaked out, until I remembered what had happened last night. The dead taxi driver, and me being all needy and clingy with a person I barely knew.

I remembered the cops, and me going into Alec's room, and then falling asleep instantly. I mean it was a hectic day.

Before all this my only problem was school, and people. Now? I have to deal with a murderer who wont leave me alone and wants to kill everyone around me.

I got up to make breakfast but stopped at the kitchen door.

There was bacon, eggs, and sausages on the table and an unfamiliar woman was sitting on a stool eating. When she saw me, she wiped her mouth with a paper towel and sat up.

"Morning Alyssa," she smiled. It wasn't a nice genuine smile but it was better than a smirk.

"Who are you? Are you a friend of Alec's?" I asked and she smiled again.

"Oh no sweetheart. I'm just here for business."

I opened my mouth to speak but she started talking before I could get a word out. "You know, you having been doing any investigating."

She walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder while walking behind me. My heart started racing. She put her mouth next to my ear.

"Why so scared? I wont hurt you?" She whispered.

"Alec is upstairs, if I scream he will hear me and come down," I said my voice shaky.

"Oh sweetie, if you do that I'll have to kill you."

My eyes widened and I looked down at my hands. "P-please don't kill me. I-I wont scream. I swear."

She started laughing. "He wont even hear you if you do. I gave him a little," she paused like she was thinking, "Sleeping medicine I guess you could call it."

"You didn't kill him did you?" I asked my voice still shaky.

"Ugh. Don't ask me questions," she walked around me to go in front of me. "No you dumb bitch. Now you are just getting me mad." She raised her hand and slapped me across the face.

"Now just shut the fuck up and listen to me. Since that dumb Jillian chick gave you nothing, I'm here to give you your next clue and some info."

She walked to the table and sat down. She then gestured for me to do the same. She started eating and I was starving so I did too.

"Now, this ones a riddle. Its so dumb and if you don't get it I recommend giving up." She started walking towards the door. She turned around when she reached it.

"Your mom and Jillian were inseparable until something huge happened. I cant tell you what it is. That's all I was told." She handed me a paper and told me Alec should be up any minute now.

10 minutes later Alec came down with only his pyjama pants on.

"Do you not like shirts or something?"

He just shrugged and sat down to eat. He started wolfing down his food as I sat down across from him. He looked up and his eyes became saucers. He rushed over to my side of the table and grabbed my face, staring at it like there was some huge mark on it.

Oh.

"Oh my god!! What the hell?! What happened?!"

"It was uh, one of the guys friends or people or whatever. She gave me a note too. I didn't read it yet."
