Falling

The alarm clock rang for the second time. As I checked the time I bolted up.

"Shit!" I had 20 mins to get out the door or I would be late for school. Heading to the bathroom I took my clothes off and turned the shower on. I needed to hurry!

Thank god for being a guy with short hair,else I would have to worry about fixing my hair and makeup and so on. Quickly getting out of the shower I dried of and changed into simple dark blue jeans and a black T-shirt. I ran down stairs into the kitchen grabbing a banana.

"Well good morning to you too." Said my mom
I ran up to her giving her a peck on the cheek.

"Slept in gunna be late!"she giggled

"I noticed! Take care see you at dinner, love you!" She yelled after me as I started putting my jacket, back pack, and shoes on.

"Kay! See you, love you too!" Then I ran out the door. Perfect I'll be there just in time.

I was right outside the school when the ground started shaking. I swore that it felt like the ground would open up and swallow us all. But it didn't,it just continued to shake. Suddenly it seemed as though the world turned upside down.

Had gravity given up? Everyone started falling towards the sky. As we fell I heard screams and pleas for help. Looking around I saw people trying desperately to grasp at anything they passed.That's when the realization hit me, grab something idiot!

If I didn't grab onto something now I would end up who knows where! Maybe space? would we end up in space?! How is that even possible?! FOCUS! Searching for something to hold onto I saw the flag pole. I desperately reached for it, inching closer and closer. I was almost there when someone bumped into me.

"Shit!" I tried for it again, I was almost out of reach when I finally grabbed ahold of it. Feeling safe while clutching the pole I started looking around again. That's when I saw it.

In the sky building up like a lake was the glitter that was always on the floor and buildings. The glitter was always odd. It had always been and no one knew where it came from nor how it came to be.But there it was hovering in the sky.

Shouldn't it be floating into space? With that thought I had another thought. It was crazy but the curiosity was so intense that it gave me some weird type of courage. What if there's no space? Next thing I knew I was letting go of the pole. Falling towards the sky I started regretting it, dread filled me as I got closer to the lake of glitter.

Falling through the glitter I hit something hard which stopped me.

"What's this?" I tried standing up, somehow it worked. As I walked out of the lake I noticed the floor wasn't concrete, it was more like glass. The dread that had left me suddenly came back ten fold. Looking through the glass I saw a hand, it looked like mine so it had to be a hand. But how? Looking pass a gap, between what I could guess were fingers, I saw a huge table. On it was a lamp, books, and pencils...how is that possible. How is any of this possible?!

The world shook once again and the gravity was back. As I fell towards the earth three thoughts came to mind. First off, wow the glitter looked amazing falling from the sky. Next, we are living in a world possibly surrounded by glass with a huge monster that looks like us(and has similar object as us) on the outside! Finally, how are we going to survive falling back to earth!?

(A/n so this is basically my first short story. I wish I could write long stories like books but I'm new to the whole writing stories and I can't really keep a story going for long I think. But well hope you liked this and you guys should've figured out where they're living if not I'm sure someone commented if anyone really read this lol thanks for read!

Oh also I put I think because I'm not sure if I should someone do a part where they're like trying to get out or something.)
