A Quest Fit For A Hero (Adventure Time fanfic)

Now before any of you haters judge, I'm just informing you that this is in fact, my first fanfic-Trav

In the land of Oo, When there is trouble of any sort, Finn The Human, And Jake the dog are the ones you can count on to fix it all. On one winters morn, Finn and Jake were called apon to rid of an evil demon that possesses those of The Candy Kingdom. This havoc wreaking demon had been created to go to The Candy Kingdom, and possess the community, making them do terrible things such as destroy homes, wound the people, and burn down buildings. “None shall have mercy!” One of the possessed yelled. When Finn and Jake arrived, they spoke to Princess Bubblegum. “What do you suppose we do?” asked Finn. “I don’t know!” Said Princess Bubblegum. “Just destroy them!” She cried. “No antidote? No potions? Not even any poisons?” Jake said. “Well, I suppose I could brew something up, but I don’t have any ingredients, so you’ll have to go get them for me” “We will.” Said Jake. “What is that you need?” “Well,” She said. “I’ll need 3 dragon scales, an eye of a frog, Rose Berry leaves, and Poison Ivy.” So the brave, willing, and loyal hero’s accepted the quest, and made their way across the lands, searching for all that was requested. But little did they know, that this quest is going to be much more difficult then what was heard. “Where exactly do we get 3 dragon scales?” asked jake. “Uh, gee man, I don’t actually know..” Replied Finn. “Lets try that cavern that we explored like 3 months ago, Didn’t we see a sign that said BEWARE OF DRAGON?” “Well yeah, man, but did we see a dragon? No. We didn’t.” Jake said in a witty voice. “Maybe he was out?” Finn suggested. “Maybe, but I doubt it. What was he doing? Buying groceries? Phft.” Snickered Jake. “Well I’m going there, come if you want, stay if you want.” Said Finn. “Argh, fine.” Jake said, “But if we don’t see a dragon, I’m going home, man, I’m getting hungry” So the heroes continued, and went to the recently explored cavern. Whilst wondering the large, and open spread cavern, Jake sighed and said “I don’t see a dragon, I don’t here a dragon. See, man? I told you” He said. “No, we’re going to find a dragon, we’re going to get its scales, and we’re going to live up to our promise!” Finn yelled. “Woah man, alright. Is this about your crush on PB?” “No”, Finn said, with blushed cheeks. “It’s just- I- We- ARGH just come on!.” He said angrily. A little while later, or 2 hours later, Jake, still with a poor attitude gave in. “That’s it man, I’m done. We’ve been going for two and a half hours STRAIGHT. I’m done. You can continue this pointless journey on your own, because I know that there is no dragon, So goodby-“ “SHH” Interrupted Finn. “Don’t you shoosh m-“ Jake said “SHHH” Finn commanded. “Over there..” He whispered, pointing to the far corner of the cavern. “What is it man? You know I can only see in Black and Grey” He reminded. “It’s the dragon. It’s sleeping.” Finn said as quietly as he could. “Man, You better not be playing me, You know I hate it when you do that.” But no. Finn was telling the truth, and nothing but the truth. Over in the far corner of the dark, shadowy cavern, slept a large, red, fearsome dragon. “I’m gonna sneak up on it, and take some of it’s scales” Finn said, in a brave voice. “Alright man, just be careful, Society will think I’m a stray dog, they’ll take me back to the pound, man!, I’m not going back there” Jake said in a worried voice. “I’ll be back. Don’t worry about that.” Finn got his sword, and crept up on the beast. Once he got within distance, Slowly, he cut the dragons scales off, one by one, until he got the requested 3. He crept back over to Finn. “I did it man” Finn said excitedly. “Good job, now let’s get out of here before the dragon wakes up” Jake said. But they were too late, as they were heading out, they heard a roar. The beast had awoken. “Quick! Run!” Finn yelled. “Get on my back!” Jake said Finn got on Jake's back, Jake stretched to 15x his size, and they headed for the exit. The dragon had breathed a wave of fire, and burnt Jake. Now injured, Jake wasn’t able to run. Finns warrior side got the better of him. He took out his sword, and decided to fight the dragon. He ran towards the beast, sword held high, and war cries being roared. He swung at the dragon, and injured it’s leg. With a cry of anger, The dragon let out a another fiery projectile, burning Finns eyebrows off. “My eyebrows! Not cool!” Finn swung once again, and hit the dragon in the chest. Not dying immediately, But injured, it just got even more frustrated. Finn dodged all of the fire that the dragon hurled at him. Then, with one last stab Finn killed it. He went back to Jake. “Are you hurt?” “Don’t mind me, man, what about you? Where are your eyebrows..?” Jake asked “Ha Ha. Very funny.” Finn said sarcastically. “Lets just get out of here. What’s the next thing we need to get?” He asked. “An eye of a frog” Jake said. “Oh, finally! An easy thing to get!” Finn said in a relieved voice. And so the two companions continued their quest. They travelled to the forest, an hour and a half away from the cavern in search of a frog. “Where do you think this one will be?” Jake asked. “Well, remember when we went swimming that one time? And we found those fish that spoke? And their people were being terrorized by a big frog?”, Finn said. “No man. NO. WE ARE NOT GOING TO FIND THAT FROG.” Jake said firmly. “Woah man, no! I was gonna say that we could go to that pond, and find a frog there..?” Finn said, reassuring Jake. “Oh, well okay then. Let’s go” Jake said in a relieved voice. Finn and Jake continued. “I hope they have something to eat at this place.” Jake said, as his stomach rumbled with emptiness.” Jake said, as his stomach rumbled. “Dude?” Finn said. “It’s a pond. Do you really think they’ll have food?” “Well, maybe man” Jake replied. “I mean, I’m a dog, I’ll eat anything.” Once arriving at the pond, they searched for a frog. It took a total of 1 hour to find just a little frog, but in the end, they found one. “There’s one, dude!” Jake said happily. “Yes!” Finn exclaimed. “I’ve got this one man, I’ll create a net with my face, and catch him” Jake said. Jake shape shifted his face into a net, and snuck up on the frog. “Ah.. Ah.. Achoo!” Jake had sneezed, and startled the frog. It jumped away in a hurry, with Finn and Jake chasing after it. It jumped over logs, jumped INTO logs, it jumped through water, and hid in leaves. This slimy reptile was impossible to catch, and even if possible, they wouldn’t be catching it anytime soon. Finn and Jake chased after the frog for many of hours, eventually, they had given up. They were forced to go onto the next thing. “We’ll have to skip this one man, let’s just go get rose berry leaves.” Jake said with a sigh. “I think you’re right” said Finn. “Where do we find a rose berry bush?” “Well a few weeks ago, I found one while I was taking my morning jog” Jake said “You take morning jogs..?” Finn said in a surprised voice. “Yeah man, it’s good for the legs” Jake said. “Okay then.” Finn said. “Take us to that bush..” Luckily, it wasn’t such an ordeal like the frog situation was. It only took 15 minutes to get to the place where Jake had seen the bush. “Here it is!” Jake said excitedly. “Are you sure it’s a rose berry bush?” Finn asked. “Yeah man, smell it” Jake reassured. Finn sniffed it, wondering if it truly was a rose bush. “Dude, it smells like pee.” Finn said. “Uhh, uh, it wasn-It wasn’t me, man.” Jake said nervously. “Are you sure?” Finn said. “Uh, yeah, no, maybe.. argh!! Come on man! I’m a dog! It’s natural for us to pee on things!” He said. “Whatever man, let’s just grab some of these leaves and go onto the next thing, okay?” Finn said. “Alright man” Replied Jake. “We need poison Ivy, let’s go get that” He said. And so the two of them set out to get the last thing on the ingredients list. Poison ivy, from the deep part of the jungle, not far off the Ice kingdom. “Alright man, this is the last thing. Poison Ivy.” Finn said. “Let’s do it.” Jake said in a brave voice. They travelled to the jungle, but little did they know, this jungle was bigger than expected. “Dude, if we see a monster, we AVOID it, okay?” Jake said. “Oh come on man, fighting is in our blood!” Finn cried. “Yeah? Well it won’t be in our blood when your blood is spilt on the ground, along with your lifeless corpse!, Plus, We’re both tired, I’m hungry, Your eyebrows are gone, and we need to get this over with before the candy people are dead!” Jake said And with a sigh, Finn agreed. So off they went. Past the tar pits of doom, through the haunted ruins of a castle, over the hill of destined death and into the depths of the dark and misty jungle, Where somewhere, their precious Poison Ivy grew. “Dude, there it is.” Jake said “The poison ivy, it’s right over there” As Finn approached to get the poison ivy, an pack of werewolves had come from the bushes. “Dude don’t fight them! Just dodge them!” Jake pleaded. “No! Not this time!” I’m fighting them!” Finn yelled. Finn drew his sword, and let out a scream, as he butchered, many of werewolves. With a slice, slash, lunge and stab, the werewolves were going down one by one, until there were no more. “See what happens when we fight?” Finn said in a cocky voice. “Yeah, Yeah, whatever man, let’s just grab the poison ivy, and get the heck out of here” And so Finn and Jake got the requested poison ivy, and off they went to go back to Candy Kingdom, where they would give the ingredients to Princess BubbleGum and live up to their heroic promise, apart from one thing. The frogs eye. So they made their made up the stairs of Princess BubbleGums castle, where they would sadly, only hand over three of four of the ingredients that were needed. “My heroes! You have arrived Did you get all the things that were needed?” Princess BubbleGum said. “Not exactly” Finn said in a sad voice “We got everything, except the frogs eye” “Yeah, we’re sorry PB” Jake said. “We just couldn’t catch the frog” “Boys, today is your lucky day.” PB said. Finn and Jake looked at each other in confusion. “What do you mean?” they said. “Well” She said “Shortly after you boys had left, Peppermint Butler informed me that we had all the ingredients we needed, but somehow I had forgotten that I stored them in the cellar!” Finn and Jake were happy because they had promised they would get the ingredients, and got them, but at the same time, annoyed because they had spent hours on end, Looking pointlessly for ingredients that had put their life in danger most of the time. “Now, let’s make this Potion .” Princess BubbleGum said, Jumping right to the point. She boiled the poison ivy, cooked the dragon scales, crushed up the rose berry leaves, and mixed it all together, with a few extra things from her lab, and within a few minutes, the Potion was ready. “Here. Take this, and when you see the demon, splash it on it. Within a few seconds, it SHOULD kill it” Princess Bubble said. And so the boys took the Potion, and headed into the town in search of the evil demons. “Over there, near the library!” Finn said. They ran over to the demon, with sword and Potion at the ready. “This is where it ends!” Jake yelled, as he pulled the cork from the vial and splashed the demon. As PB said, the demon faded away within a few seconds. It was expected that once the main demon was killed, all the people that were possessed wouldn’t be possessed anymore. But no, There wasn’t just ONE main demon. There were but three. “I’ll take this one” Finn said, as he ran off to locate the next demon. “Wait man!, I’ve got the Potion!” Cried Jake. Jake had no choice but to run after him. “There you are.” Said Finn as he walked towards the next demon. Jake was falling behind. He had to get to the demon before IT got to Finn. He stretched as far as he could. Finn swung at the demon, But the demon hit the sword out of Finns hand. Jake was now determined to save his unarmed, and defenceless friend. Jake stretched, and stretched as fast as he could, and just as the demon was about to finish Finn off, He splashed the demon. Slowly, it faded away. “Don’t ever do that again, you hear me, man!” Jake yelled. “You could have been killed!” “Yeah man, I know, I’m sorry” Finn said. “Let’s just go get the last one” Said Jake. And so they went to find the last of the demons. “Over there” Finn whispered. “It’s got it’s back turned” He said. “I’m gonna go kill it.” “Here” Jake said. “Put some of the potion on your sword” “Good idea, man” Finn replied. He crept up on the demon, and got his sword at the ready. And with one Swing, Finn had killed the demon. Like the rest, it faded away. And with that, all the people of the candy kingdom that had been possessed, weren’t possessed anymore. The demons were gone, and Candy Kingdom was saved. “Oh thank you!” Exclaimed Princess BubbleGum. “You are truly heroes!” She patted Jake on the head, and then kissed Finn on the cheek. “Now,” PB said. “Does anyone want lunch?” “Yes!” Finn and Jake said simultaneously, in an excited voice. And so, their quest had been completed. All is well in the Candy Kingdom, Finn and Jake had lived up to their promise, The people of the town had been cured and saved, and once again, Finn The Human, And Jake The Dog were known as heroes. Oh, and they had lunch.
