Turn away
Jack turned away from Mark's shocked face, with tears in his eyes.
If you could get me a drink
Mark had just gotten the horrible news that Jack was sick. So very sick.
Of water 'cause my lips are chapped and faded
Mark started crying and hugged Jack. Jack kept saying he was sorry. Mark didn't know what for.
Call my aunt Marie
"Why are you sorry Jack.. Please don't cry.." Mark said. He hated seeing Jack cry.
Help her gather all my things
"I'm sorry I can't stay with you any longer... I'm going to die Mark..." After saying that Mark cried more.
And bury me in all my favorite colors
"Jack don't say that.. They'll cure you... Please don't say that..." Mark said hold Jack's frail body closer.
My sisters and my brothers
All of Jack's family was in the hospital room crying with Mark. They knew Jack wasn't going to make it, but Mark couldn't accept it.
Still
"No.. Mark.. I have Cancer... It's practically incurable. Please Mark.." Jack said hanging his head before looking at back at Mark.
I will not kiss you
"Mark please you'll only make this worse.. Please." Mark wouldn't let go off Jack.
'Cause the hardest part of this is leaving you
Now turn away
'Cause I'm awful just to see
'Cause all my hair's abandoned all my body
Oh, my agony
Know that I will never marry
Baby, I'm just soggy from the chemo
But counting down the days to go
It just ain't living
And I just hope you know
That if you say (if you say)
Goodbye today (goodbye today)
Jack was getting worse. All his hair had fallen out and his body was rejecting the chemo.
I'd ask you to be true (cause I'd ask you to be true)
'Cause the hardest part of this is leaving you
The doctors ran in. Nurses ran in and pushed everyone out.
'Cause the hardest part of this is leaving you
All Mark could hear was.
Beep beeep beeeeeeeeeeppp....
The heart monitor flatlined.
Mark screamed.
Then silence..
