*Sarah's POV*

When I woke up, I was about to text Keenan and ask was he riding with Derrick today. It was Friday and Bri had texted saying that we all should hang out after school. I don't know why she's making such an effort to get Keenan's attention, when Derrick's obviously head over heels for her. She used to be the same with him, until Keenan came. She wouldn't seriously give up 6 months of work to start over with the new guy, would she? I found Keenan's contact name and laughed. Kee👅. Never in my life have I used the tongue, water splashes, eggplant, or peach emoji. I knew they were used for dirty terms and I'd be dead if my parents found me using those emojis since they like to snoop occasionally. I clicked on his contact to type a message.

SJP: Good morning, are you riding with Derrick today?

Kee: Yep, you?

SJP: Yeah. Do you want to hang out with us after school?

Kee: hmm, I guess I could chill❄️

SJP: lol okay, see you in a few

Kee: Bet

SJP: Bet what?

Kee: it means okay

SJP: Oh! Thanks for the explanation.☺️

I really liked the blue off the shoulder dress, and the tan heels compliment the dress well. I really like fashion, could never make it, I like sketching some outfits thouhh. I put on a little bit of makeup, enough to help my complexion. I heard Derrick honking his horn and I quickly went downstairs before my dad checked outside. "Bye Mom, Daddy!" I called out as I rushed out of the house. I get to Derrick's truck and quickly hop in. "Hey, Sarah." Derrick said, I smiled at him and waved. "Hey, Der." I said buckling up. "Hey, Keenan!" I said dragging out his name playfully. "Sup, SJP." Keenan said nodding his head. "SJP?" Derrick questions. "Sarah Jessica Parker." I said as Derrick sighed. "Okay." He said rolling his eyes. "Did Bri text you?" I asked as Derrick nodded. "Yeah, and she called me." Derrick said seeming happy. I'd really like to see them together, when they're not beating around the bush, they're really cute. Which is why I don't understand Bri at the moment. "So where we gonna eat at?" Derrick asked making a turn. "Bri is talking about going to Chili's." I said as he nodded. "You got any preferences, Keenan?" Derrick asked pulling into the school's parking lot. "Nah, I'm chill wit whatever." Keenan said opening the door. Keenan had a different style than Derrick, I know people's style are gonna be different, but I guess Derrick's is more consistent. Derrick usually had some type of hat on his head, fitted cap or beanie. He wore hoodies with jeans and Timb, or any famous person's shoes. Keenan, on the other hand, wore something trendy one day and throwback the next. I liked his style, it was a refreshing change in Wellesden Prep. Today, he had on a black shirt, baggy-ish jeans, and Timbs. A gold chain complimenting the outfit nicely. He looked really nice....and he just caught me basically staring at him. "You okay, SJP?" Keenan asked giving me a little smirk. He thinks it's funny. "No, yeah. I-I just kinda spaced right there." I said as he licked his lips, causing me to lick mine. "I'll uh, see y'all later." Derrick said giving me a look. I know that look, it's the What the fuck was that/ going on look. "So, is Jason coming after school?" Keenan asked hooking his hands on his backpack straps. "No, and I really hope that Brianna doesn't invite him." I said holding my purse on my stomach. "Good." Keenan simply said, as we turned into our Literature class. Brianna gave a small wave and I waved back, only to find that she wasn't waving at me. Ouch! I sat in my seat next to Brianna and Keenan. "Keenan, did Derrick ask you to hang out after school?" Brianna asked leaning forward on the desk, her shirt exposing the top of her boobs. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Nah, your homegirl did." Keenan said letting his hand fall on my desk. "Great!" Brianna beamed. Next hour me and her are gonna have to have a come to Jesus moment because this is ridiculous. She can't have both boys! Come on Sarah, just get through the day without drama, or getting involved. The whole time I was hearing Brianna bring up Keenan's name. She would always do something to catch his attention or for him to catch hers. A note hit my desk as I looked to see Brianna urging me to pass it on. I looked at her for a couple seconds before passing the note to Keenan. I watched as he read the note and laughed. What did she say? He grabbed a pencil and wrote his response down. Keenan handed me the paper with a smirk, I couldn't even smile, I wasn't in the mood. I rolled my eyes as I handed the note back to Bri. She stifled a laugh and wrote something else down. Having enough, I gathered my stuff and moved seats and sat by Cole. Keenan turned his head to me and I pretended like I was writing down notes. Once the bell rung, I grabbed my bag and tossed my hair over my shoulders. Out of my peripherals, I saw that Brianna stayed behind to talk to Kennan. She played with a strand of her ginger hair. I went to my Biology 2 class, forget the coming to Jesus moment for us, I'm letting her do her own thing. She's clearly made up her mind.

After Lunch

After lunch, Brianna and I went to the gym. This is where we've been practicing for cheer tryouts Monday. "Where were you at lunch, I was looking for you." Brianna said as I set my school bag down. "I had to grab my duffel and I wanted to change early." I say as I open my duffel bag and pull out cheer shoes. "You could've said something, I would've came with you." Brianna said pulling out her clothes. "You seemed preoccupied with Keenan, didn't want to bother you guys." I said putting on my shoes. "I don't see why you're so salty, you don't like black boys." Brianna shrugged as she shoved passed me. I slightly jerked my neck back at her comment. Where would she get the idea that I don't like black boys? It's not like we've had any besides Derrick and she already "claimed" him upon arrival. I rolled my eyes and pulled my hair up into a ponytail. I got in the circle to stretch as Brianna came and sat down by Tracy, the girl who Brianna said she didn't like. We did our stretches and the veteran girls got in the front line to lead our dance routine.

After doing our routine, we grabbed our things and headed to the showers. "Good job today, Sarah. You can't even tell it's your first year cheering." The co-captain, Ashley, said patting me on the shoulder. It meant a lot, I only done this because of Brianna. I hurried up to the shower, and set my stuff down. Once I was done showering, I dried my hair and pulled out my makeup.  Brianna had just got out of the shower when I finished my makeup. I went through my duffel and pulled out the change of clothes I had. I had on a burgundy sweater with little gold spikes on the shoulders and sleeves, ripped skinny jeans, and peep-toed blue jean heels. I had always bern extra when it came to going out places to eat. I straightened my hair quickly as Brianna slipped on clothes. I put all my things in my bag and grabbed my school bag, "I'm headed out." I said as I walked out to Derrick's truck. "Where's Bri?" Derrick asked as I set my things in the truck. "Still getting dressed." I said sitting back in the seat. Keenan turned toward me from the passenger seat, "You okay, SJP?" He asked as I nodded. He gave me a wink and smiled before turning back around. What did I have to be jealous of Brianna for? He didn't smile like that around her. Keenan's phone rang and he picked up. It was silent on his end before his face perked up. "Dee, hey!" Keenan said as he smiled. "I miss you too!" Keenan said as his smile just got bigger, something I haven't seen. I wanted to be the one to make Keenan smile like that, strangely enough. I don't know why, I just had to be the one to make his brown eyes light up. It was a good look for him to smiling. Keenan ended the call and was still smiling. "W-Who was that?" I asked as he turned to me. "My friend, Dejah, she got my new number and called." Keenan said as Brianna got in the car. "Hey, Keenan." Brianna said as she was dressed in a navy blue crop top, high-waisted skinny jeans, and Converse. "Hey, Brianna." Keenan said turning back around. "We ready?" Derrick asked as we all nodded. Derrick started the vehicle and took off to Chili's.
