A/n: I will be updating this quite a bit this month because I have so many ideas for October! This is the first, but I have a lot planned! I'm really excited! Hence the exclamation points. Specifically, I plan to update 31 times this month, but not necessarily once a day. Anyway, on with the book!
●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○Bucky: You love not only to carve pumpkins with your dad, but to pick pumpkins as well. Walking to the tractor station, riding through the bumpy pumpkin patch wearing a puffy coat, examining each and every pumpkin carefully. Finally finding the perfect pumpkin, and carrying it stubbornly refusing to let your dad carry it because it's YOUR pumpkin. Plunking it down on the carving table and thinking of a design. Getting frustrated as you try to outline your pattern in Sharpie on the smooth front of the pumpkin. Trying to be patient as your dad carves out the inside of the pumpkin. Getting too excited when you finally do get to carve it and mess up, so you have to change the design slightly but everything works out in the end. Then, looking at the product of all your hard work with your face glowing with pride and the light from your jack-o-lantern. 🎃
Steve: One word: leaves. Jumping into giant leaf piles, feeling them compact under you, hearing them crinkle up. Then laying flat on your back and making leaf angels before pushing the leaves back into a large pile. Jumping upon them again, but this time grabbing as many out of the air as you can and then running inside with your arms full of colorful leaves and the crafts begin. You pull out this year's scrapbook, some paints, glitter, some pencils, and some other miscellaneous art supplies, and begin filling the pages with leaf prints in colorful paint, that thing where you rub pencil lead over paper on top of something and it makes a cool picture but I can't remember the name of the thing, glitter outlines of leaves, plain leaves glued in whole, and anything else you can come up with. 🍃
Tony: Fall means it is time for spooky movies! You love the old fashioned not really scary anymore horror movies. The somewhat noticeable flaws, the overacting, and of course what are supposed to be the scariest moments have you on the floor laughing. Movies from the 80s with accidentally cheesy special effects that are sometimes scary, but usually just give you the opportunity to play one of your favorite games: pompous film critic. "While one may be able to infer from the context what the makers intended, though it almost appears as though they were undecided on exactly what the meant." Critique it all you like, but you secretly do enjoy some of the movies. Though you do watch modern horror movies, you always regret it. The fire heating you up from the inside out as the suspense grows. Breaking random things near you during jump scares. Feeling confident that you were not that scared, until you turn off the lights. The shadows elongating and mutating into something horrible coming for you. White noise becomes claws, paws, and creaking doors. You always end up in a blanket fort surrounded by homemade traps of your own design with the lights on and swearing to never watch a modern horror movie again. And, of course, never keeping that promise. 👻
Wanda: Some may say that technically it is not an activity, but you love relaxing. Wearing fuzzy sweaters in your favorite fall colors of reds, oranges, yellows, golds, and browns. Wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider in your hands. Watching a movie that always makes you smile, or just watching the leaves falling from the window. Sometimes you manipulate the leaves to dance through the air in loops and spirals. Sometimes you just leave it all to the wind. Either way, you just sit back and enjoy how quiet life is at the moment. 🌫
Thor: Running excitedly through well kept groves of trees shedding their summer leaves, too excited to walk. Ignoring the ladders and climbing up to the top branches and cheering because you made it to the top. Picking the best apple you can find and eating it while you pick several others and actually put them in your basket. Moving slowly back down to avoid spilling your apples, but then running to the next tree as fast as you can. Having so much fun that you keep going using pure determination until you physically cannot keep moving. At that point flopping down on the ground, getting leaves in your hair, and eating one last apple before finally heading back home with your basket full of all the apples that you managed to not eat. Yet. 🍏
Natasha: Halloween. Everything about it. Faux cobwebs surrounding the perimeter of the ceiling and door frames. Stringing up colorful lights that give off glimmers of orange, black, and purple light, causing the cobwebs to glow. Ghosts in the windows, minimum of one skeleton in every closet, werewolves in the trees, and witches in the upstairs window. Horror movie marathons with your mom where she teaches you exactly what to do in each situation and how to survive the attacks, so you are no longer afraid of horror movies. Meticulously planning your costume for at least a month or two, going through several designs, and finally ending up with something that definitely requires some effort but is not as grand as you initially wanted it to be. Throwing murder mystery Halloween parties the day before Halloween so that it doesn't get in the way of trick-or-treating which is an art form to you. You always compete with your friends over who can collect the most candy without cheating. For years you have remained undefeated, because to you, this is war and so you plan for war. 🍭
