Ashton's pov.
"Ash why are you not eating your food? It's getting cold."
Just hearing him made me wanna cry more from the inside. But I did not cry because I have to stay strong for him and for us. Still I could not control the tear that flowed from my cheeks.
"Hey! Everything's gonna be okay. I'm here with you."
I jumped right out of my chair and hugged him very tightly.
"You know what all this is my fault. They are gone because of me. If I should have just stayed at home and not argue with them."
"Hey! Listen nothing is your fault. It was just supposed to happen and nothing else."
"But if I would have just stayed at home it would have been me not them."
"Ash please stop blaming yourself. None of it was your fault."
"But------"
He shushed me before I can say something and started stroking my hair's.
After some time I went to my room. I picked a photo of me with mom and dad and sat on the bed. The memories of that day started flashing through my head.
"Mom I'm 16 now. I'm capable of taking my own decisions. You don't have to tell me what to do and what not to." I said angrily.
"Ashton we are your parents, we are supposed to care for you and why do you think I gave birth to you? For your nonsense noo, you are not going to that party and that's final."
"But Mom you can't do this to me. Everyone from my batch is going even Aisha. Dad please explain to her, she won't listen to me."
"No Ash, on this I'm with your mom. She's absolutely right, you should listen to her. And also I've heard that the last time police crashed the party you are supposed to go to and they arrested a bunch of kids for illegally supplying drugs. I also don't want you to come home drunk late."
"But dad it'll be safe, I swear I won't get drunk and I'll be home before my curfew hour, I promise." I begged them.
"No Ash you are not going and I don't want any arguments, It's final." Mom said angrily
"But----"
"No buts, haven't you heard correctly what your mom said, no arguments ."
"I wish if Mat would have been here, you guys would have send me then, haven't you?"
"Maybe we would have but since now he is not here there is no room for any kind of arguements. So go to your room or you'll be grounded for a week."
"I HATE BOTH OF YOU. I CAN'T WAIT TO BE 18 SINCE I'LL GET THE FREEDOM LIKE MAT HAVE AND WON'T HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE WITH A BIG BROTHER HANGING ON MY BACK ALL THE TIME KEEPING A WATCH ON ME. I ALSO CAN'T WAIT TO GET RID OF YOUR GUYS RESTRICTIONS ON EVERYTHING."
I walked out of the kitchen door, slamming it and swearing under my breath.
*1 hour later*
"Hello?"
"Am I speaking to Ashton Cane?"
"hmm.. Yes?"
"I'm sheriff Cole. Listen there was a robbery at your house. Your parents tried to stop them but the robbers shot them. We informed your brother and he'll be reaching here soon."
Only one word came out of my already dried mouth "Okay"
"We are at the city hospital right now and your mom is asking for you so you should probably come here soon."
He hung up and I just stood there speechlessly. Without wasting any time I ran to the hospital.
*After reaching the hospital, with mom*
"Mom you are gonna be just fine, don't worry." I said.
"I know Ash that I won't be able to make it. But I just wanted to tell you both that me and your dad luv you very much."
"But mom you can't give hope this easily and also we won't let anything happen to you" Mat put his arm on my shoulders and said "Right Ash?"
"Yes, nothing will happen to you mom you'll be healthy as a horse in just a few days."
Mom chuckled at my silly joke and said:
"Dear it's all fate you can't stop it from happen. But I just want both of you to promise me that in everything; happiness and sadness you'll not let go of each other and will always be on each others side, especially you Mater, I want you to be on your little sister's side always." She Choked.
"We promise Mom" Now Mat also started to cry.
"I just want to tell you guys that your dad and me, we both are proud of you guys." With that she took her last breath.
When I reached the hospital, the sheriff told me that dad died instantly reaching the hospital as he was shot thrice and mom was shot twice.
I saw Mat sitting outside the ICU in which mom was being treated. I ran to him and hugged him very tightly and waited for the doctor to come out so we could go inside.
I really regretted for not talking to them nicely before the incident happened. After going out of the house they called me many times but I didn't picked it, if I only I would have picked the phone and apologized. I would have at least talked to dad and mom for the last time. With these thoughts on my mind and tears flowing down my cheeks I don't know when I drifted off to sleep.
