Looking out the window, I grow steadily excited when I see different parts of California becoming visible. Turning towards my friends, I can see the excitement in them too. This is our life now, there's no turning back. I glance over at Connor's section and notice he's sleeping. I thought of all people I would be the one to sleep on the five hour flight, but I guess I was too excited. Our flight took of at seven, Georgia time and it is now twelve. California is three hours behind us so now it nine in the morning.i turn towards my friends.

"You guys know its only 9am, right?" I ask.

"It can't be," Morgan says,"our flight was 5 hours long, its 12."

"Yes, in Georgia, but we're in California now, so its 9." said Mia.

" Holy shit, we can't move into the apartment till 12, what are we gonna do? " Sarah asked.

"You guys could hang out at my place, you know, help me unpack." We look up to see who just invited us over, and it was no one else but Connor.

"Just like you to make the women do everything." Mia said jokingly.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I got a better idea." I said as I pulled out my phone. I pulled up the only contact I had that stayed in California. I pressed the call button. It rang twice, then he answered.

"Hello?" he said in a voice that sounded like I just woke him up. But I didn't care.

"Morning, sunshine! Get up ,we're about to land." I said cheerfully into the phone.

"Get a cab asshole, its too early for me to drive out there." he said.

" Codie, come on!! I haven't seen you since you graduated and moved to Beaumont last year!!" I whined, knowing what he said was final and we really would have to get a cab.

" Just tell the guy to drop you off at my house. I'll help you guys get your stuff out of storage when you get here. I know you have to miss Shamar." he said

Shamar is the name of my car I got a few months before moving here. Its a all black Camaro with a black and red interior. I also call it my Black Stallion, but that's only on rare occasions. I call it Shamar because of Shamar Moore on Criminal Minds, my favorite TV show. And they have alot in common.

" Yeah, I can't wait to get behind the wheel again." I replied, thinking about my car.

" Well, call me when you get here. I gotta go." Codie said

"Okay, bye!" I hung up the phone. By that time I seemed to have missed alot that had went on. Everyone was grabbing there things and getting up. I looked out the window only to see that the plane had landed while I was on the phone. I quickly gathered my things and hot in line after my friends. After getting off the plane we walked to the front entrance.

"Well, I guess I'll see you guys around." Connor said, putting his bag in the back of a cab. We ran over and hugged him goodbye, mine lasting the longest.

"Don't ever change. You're perfect just the way you are." he whispered to me as he pulled away and got in the cab. I watched him drive away until Morgan yelled at me to get in our cab. We were on our way to see Codie in Beaumont.
