Capítulo Siete: Rosaline & Juliet: The Unspoken Shakespeare Love Story
NB: Some terms you may not be familiar with:
test (n): A procedure intended to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something (ie M, J and P's Spanish skills). M, J and P took one the previous lesson. Again. This time, the results were as follows:
M: 20/20 (100%)
J: 18.5/20 (92.5%)
P: 17.5/20 (87.5%)
Sir Galahad (n): Name of a knight of Arthur's round table. In this case, 'The Sir Galahad Incident' is the name of a prank M pulled on J, P, and S (their mutual best friend). It involved M convincing them that she had a boyfriend (when she didn't), and that she met with him after school every day except Monday. Since she refused to tell J, P or S his name, merely that he was tall, dark and handsome, J dubbed him 'Sir Galahad', and the name stuck. This prank went on for about three weeks. M was first discovered by P, who was stalking her on her way home. M confessed that Sir Galahad wasn't real, but asked P to keep it a secret. P agreed, and J and S were convinced that Sir Galahad was real for another two weeks. It was during Chamber Choir, when J was talking animatedly about how jealous she was of M for having a boyfriend, that both M and P burst out laughing and admitted he wasn't real. J was understandably pissed, and is said to be plotting to get M back.
Sherlock (n): BBC (Britsh Broadcasting Corporation) televison show that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson, and Andrew Scott as Jim Moriarty. M, J and P are all big fans.
Rosaline (n): Very minor character in the Shakespeare tragedy Romeo And Juliet. She is Romeo's lover at the beginning of the play, and he orginally goes to the ball of the Capulets to see her, as she is Juliet's cousin. She doesn't actually say anything in the play, but oh well.
Lysander (n): Character in Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. He is one of the lovers. Hopelessly in love with Hermia.
Hermia (n): Another character in Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. One of the lovers. Hopelessly in love with Lysander (they're in love).
