Unexpected

"I'm happy here I don't understand why I have to move. I could just attend boarding school and stay here with my friends..." I moan as I walk into my room with mum hot on my tail. "This will be good for you Kaia" mum states.

"I don't care, I don't want to leave I'm happy here."

"I don't want to leave you here, now finish packing or your friends aren't coming over." I groan then continue packing. I pull clothes from draws, I can't believe mum wants to move to L.A why can't she just work here, I mean I'm happy she was asked to take this new job as a assistant director but I don't want to leave my friends they mean too much to me.

Twenty minutes later I finally finish, I start towards the kitchen, as I enter the room I smell the familiar smell of party food... "Umm mum what are you doing?" I asked suspiciously looking at the counter full of solo cups and party food. "Well-" mum started to say something but was then cut off by a knock at the door. I follow still confused from the state of the kitchen bench. I peek past her towards the door as she opens it, I see a whole bunch of people from school standing at my front door with cans of fizzy drink and packets of nibble foods. As mum lets the people in I see my bestfriend of 5 years, Mikkie. she spots me and runs towards me greeting me with a grin spread across her face.

"Oii, what's going on?" I ask.

"Well your mum asked me to gather some people from school, and we threw a party!!" she says way too enthusiastically. She then grabs my hand and drags me back into the house which now has blasting music echoing through the interior, as I walk in my mum is nowhere to be seen, I look around confused. I walk to the kitchen, I look towards the counter and there was a note. I grab it and read it 'This party was a distraction, I threw it because I have to leave for L.A tonight. I have organised for my new assistant to come get you in two days and she will fly with you. Lots of love, mum xx' I stared at the note for a few seconds astonished. then I was broken out of my trance by some familiar words. "Truth or Dare in the lounge room!!!"

I walk into the lounge room, I might as well enjoy myself I won't be able to attended a party in Australia ever again, I sit down next to Mikkie who was currently giving someone a dare to do. "Kaia! Truth or Dare?" a guy that was in my English class asked, I think his name is James.

"Dare." Yep that's right I take risks.

"Ok, I dare you to kiss Jack." I turn to Jack which is my ex who is sitting across from me, how did I not notice him.. I move towards him with out hesitation the we lock lips for about 5 seconds then I pull away. Everyone whistled and howled at how I did it with ease. As the night progressed we played more games such as 'What are the Odds'.
Two days later....
Urgh... Today's the day.. I'm officially moving to L.A, I was packing a couple of last minute things when I heard a car pull up followed by a knock on the door, I got up from my bed and walked to the door. "Hello"

"Oh hi there, you must be Kaia." A short plumpy lady said grinning and shaking my hand, she had chestnut colored hair that was cut into a bob and a very Canadian accent.

"Yes that's me, you must be my mothers new assistant."

"Yes that's me," she said imitating me, "the name is Susan or Sue, have you got your bags ready we're taking the private jet." Holy crap! Private jet!! I then grabbed my bag and got into the black BMW that was parked out the front and headed to a the airport. "So are we going to like a private airport or something?" I asked curiously stuffing my face with some lollies that were supplied to me in the back seat.

"Well no, we are using normal airports nothing special." With that said the rest of the trip was full of me talking and asking questions.. I guess this won't be as bad as I thought...
