Hey guys, so this is just a little short story that I wrote a long time ago and decided to put it up on here.

I hope you guys enjoy this, it was supposed to be the prologue for another story, but I got bored of it. This is a slightly longer sport story, but I really loved writing it.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy!

“Mommy look!” A small girl with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes runs to her mother holding a little white flower. “What is it Kara?” A woman with blond hair and blue eyes looks up from a book that she is pretending to read. “Mommy look! It’s a white flower! Look, look! Do you see?!” The excited child waves the white flower frantically in front of her mother’s face.

“I see, I see. Do you know what it’s called?” The woman says chuckling slightly. Her daughter puts her right hand to her chin caressing it while thinking intently. “Hmm. No I don’t. Do you? What’s it called?!” The girl quickly changes her tone from careful thinking to excited curiosity, making her mother giggle slightly.

“It’s called a rose, and the one you have right there is a little white one.” The small child looked down at the rose with wide eyes “Ooh.” She said drawing out the sound of the ‘O’ as she spoke. “Are there other colors?” She asked still staring in awe at the small plant in her hand. Her mother smiled warmly at her daughter,

“Yeah there are. There are red ones and yellow ones, and even some other more exciting colors. Like blue and purple.” She looked up with one eyebrow furrowed upwards, then back at the rose. She repeatedly looked up to her mother and back to the rose about three time before speaking. “I like the white rose.” She stated simply. “How come?” Her mother asked, honestly expecting her to be very excited at the idea of different colors of the pretty flower. “I don’t know, I just, don’t think they would look good. Maybe the red.” She continued to look intently at the flower before speaking again. “Maybe.” She repeated.

“Have you ever seen a red rose?” Her mother asked curious as to what her answer would be. “No.” She said simply. “But I have seen all of the colors, and looking at this white one, I just don’t think that they would look good painted on this pretty flower.” When she finished, her mother was astonish at the level of imagination and creativity inside her young daughter’s mind.

“There you two are.” A male’s voice came very suddenly from the house. Suddenly the small girl was very excited, again. “Daddy!” The child exclaimed while running towards the young man at the back door of their small cottage. “Hey there baby girl. How ya been?” The man said picking his daughter up and swinging her slightly getting a giggle out her. “I’ve been good. Daddy, look it’s a rose!” She waved the small flower slightly in front of him, showing him a big smile.

Her father returned the smile and began speaking. “I see. It’s very pretty, just like you. Did you show momma?” He asked leaning down to his daughter’s height. Kara nodded slightly letting out an ‘hmmhm.’

The man leaned down to whisper so that his wife couldn’t hear. “You know, and I need you to keep this between you and me, but I think momma would’ve gotten mad at me if you showed me first, since she was here with the whole time.” This made his daughter giggle as she began skipping off to play on her own. The man then walked over to talk with his wife. Both smiling as he sat down Melonie began speaking.

“She’s gonna change the world someday, ya know that?” Eden looked to his wife with a serious face and nodded, beginning to speak. “I think that we should go farther into the kingdom tonight. The fleets of Imha are coming close to where we live. We could be caught in the crossfire.” His wife looked sad for a moment before nodding and responding. “I’ll get Kara and help her pack, okay?” She gave him a quick kiss and walked over smiling to her daughter.
