There was a woman in her 40-something ran towards the front gate. She just heard a familiar voice called her. When the door was finally opened, there was a young man smiling to the person in front of him.
"I'm home, Mom."
"Oon..." Arthit's mother hugged his son who had been away from home for 6 months.
Arthit hugged his mom back. "How are you, Mom?"
"I should be the one to ask."
"You know I'm fine." Arthit freed himself from the wrapped of his mother's arms.
"Then, I'm fine if you are fine." Arthit's mother looked relieved. "Come inside, you need to rest."
Arthit followed his mother from behind. "Where is Dad?"
"He is taking care of his bussiness." She replied. "What? Do you want to meet him?"
Arthit didn't directly answer the maib question. "Just tell me when he is home, Mom. I'm gonna take a nap for a short time."
Without waiting for his mother to agree, Arthit disappeared from the living room into his bedroom. He took out his phone from his bag and typed a message for his boyfriend.
The reply came a minute after the message had been sent.
"I hope that you feel better now that you are home. Send my regards to your parents, P'Arthit."
Arthit threw his body onto the bed. Well, now he was home, there was no way to run from the plan. He was also sure that Kongpob was so ready and would do it anytime his father back from work.
No matter what would be happened, Arthit should tell his parents about... Wait! Was he suppossed to talk about his boyfriend or about living with his partner?
An hour later, Arthit had been napping soundlessly. A manga was left opened beside him. It seemed like this guy could barely sleep at night for days, or even weeks.
The sound of car machine woke Arthit up. He opened his eyes and took a deep breath. Here he came, his father. Arthit felt heavy on his feet. A knock on the door surprised him who was busy hesitating.
"Oon..."
"I know, Mom. I'll be out in a minute." No, he was not ready. What should he do? 😭
Arthit needed to call Kongpob, but he thought that his boyfriend might be in the middle of executing their plan. He decided to stepp out from his comfort zone. He came out and face his father.
Their relationship was not that close and kinda formal. Not because Arthit didn't want to inherit his father's company, but even since he was a little kid, his father was busy creating his business which now already became big and steady. That's why, Arthit and his father rarely talk to each other.
For Arthit, it turned to be worse when he rejected his father's suggestion for him to enter faculty of business or economic so that he could help his father with work. Arthit couldn't help it since he was the one who upset his father.
"When did you arrive, Oon?" His father started the conversation first. He was sitting on the sofa, leaning back.
"At 6." Arthit replied. He positioned himself next to his father. He didn't look at him directly, but he could see his father's movement through the corner of his eyes.
His father was a bit surprised when his own son sat beside him, but he kept it to himself. Arthit's mother was still in the pantry, preparing for dinner.
"Dad, I have something to tell you." Arthit, with all the feelings he felt right at that moment, pushed himself to talk.
His father's facial expression showed the are-you-sure-you-want-to-talk-to-me question. "Okay..." he said. "I will listen."
