You unwrapped the present, blue with red stars and a neon green fluffy bow, on my bed, crumpling the paper into a small ball as you went. Your mom and dad watched happily, your mother resting her head on your father's shoulderas they smiled, witnessing this important milestone in your life. You had alreadyguessed they were getting you your first phone, and this late birthday present had finally confirmed it.
After the paper had been clawed, you stared at it, grin getting wider and wider-- a new Iphone6s. You jumped up and down, dancing around the room. "Mom! Dad! Thank you so, so, much!"You thrust yourself into them, and your mother laughed softly and touched your cheek.
Your dad began to drone on responsibilities and all that, but you weren't listening. Dancing away, you took a pair of scissors and took apart the plastic, white case and held the shiny phone in your hand.
After answering questions and making your account all set up, your parents left your room and you were alone. You thought aboutwhat apps to get first, and whose number to collect so you could finally join in on the texting your friends always did.
After scrolling through the few pages ofapps and icons, searching for the app store but not finding it since you weren't sure what it looked like, you decided to talk to Siri.
Oh, boy, Siri! You hadheard so much about her, and you were truly thrilled to talk to her in person. Well, not that she was a 'person,' but still! She would make everything so much easier.
You grinned, eagerly pressing down on the home button on your shiny new phone, and spoke, rather loudly into the microphone, "Hello, Siri."
You watched, still grinning, as the wavy linetook in what you said and your words appeared on the screen as text.
