"Why would you ever wanna share this with anyone?" My sister younger Ally asked as she did her homework.I rolled my eyes at my sister and sighed. "It becomes lonely being the only one."
"Isn't that what is so cool about it? Your like the most advanced human at the moment" she said wide eyed and confused.
"Most advanced humans can be lonely too." I looked down at my floor and closed my eyes
Ally must have understood this cue and left the room.
Ally is the only one I have ever told about my power. Although, She has only seen me use it once. I just feel it is not to be paraded around like I am some circus freak.
I had always been secretive. I just figured this is my life and my life only why should anyone know all about me. Only a select few get to know anything worth knowing about me.
This is something my sister absolutely hates about me.
She is the type who wants to know all the facts down to the smallest details. For years she's been asking how I got my power and every time she's asked I've evaded the question saying things like "Its too complicated" or "I have no idea"
In reality I remember that day like it was yesterday and I constantly relive it in my dreams. I know exactly what happened to me. I emptied my mind and began to go through the events of the day again and again.
-I walked through the school hallways in my year of seventh grade as if it was any other day. I watched as groups of friends would stand near the lockers and laugh and as teachers would make comments to each other across the hallway.
Everything was so blissfully...ordinary.
I went to each of my classes and as usual I was the asshole who answered every question. That was what I was known for back then. The only class when my smarts didn't shine was my last class, gym.I tried to play the games but I was not coordinated at all so I often spent my time at the back of the line in order to keep from being next.
I was never bullied for all of this, thankfully because I think people just didn't care enough about me to want to waste their energy pestering me.
Soon enough gym class ended and I boarded
the bus to go home. I sat with my sister as usual. That day she wore those shoes the lit up when she walked which at the time I would often make fun of.As the bus pulled up to our stop we both got out and braced ourselves for the rain. My sister had an umbrella but it was too small for the both of us. Plus it had a princess on it, so I decided I'd rather be soaked by the rain. I pulled my hood over my head and tried to walk under some pine tree branches to provide me with cover.
As we walked up the hill to our house I looked at the ground so the rain wouldn't get on my faceSometimes I believe fate comes into play right at this moment.
I ran into a gigantic tree. Falling backwards into the mud I yelled for my sister to come and help me as I sloshed around. I looked up to see she had already entered the house. I sighed loudly and slammed my hand into the ground to gain stability
Instead of meeting the earth my hand disappeared into a hole. I pulled it out quickly thinking it was an animals home but was quickly mesmerized.
There was something shining at the bottom of the hole. I turned my body to look into it and saw it was close enough to reach. As I lifted my hand up to examine the object the area around me became illuminated.
