Chapter 1: Who knew you were Shakespeare reincarnated?

HAZELS POV:

I stared at myself in the mirror. My shoulder length brown hair was now in a messy bun. My make-up complimented my green/hazel eyes. I wore a delicate maroon, knee-length dress as well. My 3-inch pumps finished the outfit. All in all, I was pretty impressed.

"So, did I do a good job or what?"
Lydia, my best friend said. She was clapping her hands and jumping up and down like she just met the hottest guy on earth or something.

"Yes, you did really well, I can hardly recognize myself. Thank y-"

"Uh uh uh, best friends don't thank each other," Lydia said shaking her finger in my face. "Buuuuut, you do owe me Nutella ice cream"
"Don't forget me I want Vanilla". Classic Lydia and Madalyn.

"Of course I do, I always owe you both ice cream, even though Madalyn, you didn't do anything". Sarcasm tumbling off my tongue. They looked at me with their hands over both hearts. I couldn't hold it in much longer, I burst out laughing and they soon joined in.

"Okay, what are you waiting for, go on, go surprise your man, it's his birthday tomorrow but you know he's gonna leave town so you might as well surprise him." Madalyn grinned widely at me.

I was just about to knock on the door when I heard muffled voices coming from the other side of the door. Who the hell could that be in his apartment at midnight?? I swear to god if he is having a party without me I will murder him, not literally but still. I ditched the plan of knocking on the door and used the spare key under the mat to go in.

As I walked in I saw clothes lying on the floor. There was his first - a shirt, jeans, boxers and then I saw a shirt, bra, shorts and pants which were not mine. I walked further into the room to see two almost fully naked people kissing the life out of each other.

My boyfriend, well, my ex now, and a girl who is nothing looks nothing like me, more like those sluts in the high school movies.

It took a little while for my brain to register what I just witnesses but when it did, I did the first thing that came into my head.

I dropped everything and I ran.

The last thing I heard as I ran out was a distant "I can explain, please don't leave".

Harsh tears escaped my eyes and blurred my vision, but that didn't stop me from running as fast as my legs could take me. Once I could see a local Starbucks, I entered and sat at a table far from the others. Obviously, people were staring at me as if I was a shirtless Taylor Lautner or something but that didn't really bother me.

As soon as I sat on the table, I called my best friends Lydia and Madalyn and asked them if they can meet me here. They obviously were concerned, but thankfully didn't ask much. Once I had ordered 3 iced teas, I let myself drown in my tears all over again...

"He WHATTTTTT" Lydia shouted very loudly banging her fists on the table. Everybody in the Starbucks stared at us and I could see the manager giving us death glares.

"He umm,..he... cheated on me," I said weekly. I knew I looked like a mess right now. My eyeliner and mascara were probably smudged because of the tears and I had ruined my hair by gripping it out of anger.

"How dare he. Anyways, I never liked him anyways, he was too ugly and he is most definitely not worth these tears." Madalyn comforted me, wiping the remaining tears from my cheeks.

"On the bright side, maybe this is a good thing?" Madalyn said whilst sipping her tea.

"How in God's name is my first ever boyfriend cheating on me after 7 months of a relationship a good thing Maddy?" I asked, curious to see her perspective of this situation.

"I agree with Hazel" Lydia nodded towards me.

"Well, maybe fate destined you with someone else, someone who is worth the tears you shed, the time you spend for them, the love you share for them, and maybe that certain someone wasn't Jonah. Maybe that certain someone is out there. You shouldn't be crying over someone who isn't that person. So I refuse to see you like this. Put a smile on your face and laugh because I have a feeling that this time, you'll find someone who is worth every second of your life..."

It was silent for a few seconds. Well, that was before Lydia interrupted...

"Damn girl, who knew you were fricken Shakespeare reincarnated..?"

Then we burst into laughter which made the manager kick us out of Starbucks.

Yup, leave it to Lydia and Maddy to make you smile. I honestly couldn't live without them.
