You were surrounded by darkness. You had endured the genocide route countless times, just to see her again. You couldn't stop thinking about her. Her blood red eyes that hypnotised you. Her short, brown mop of hair. Her smile. Many monsters feared her deadly smile - you found it intriguing. You found that you were interested in Chara since the first time you had met her...and now you were meeting her once again.

Her body materialised before you.

"Well, hello again (Y/N). How was the run this time?" Chara chuckled. Her eyes were locked with yours.

"Hmmm...It wasn't the best. Sans put up quite a fight this time around." You mumbled. You hated killing your friends, but if it was to see Chara, then it was worth it. Chara narrowed her eyes, as if she had sensed that something was wrong.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)?" She asked, keeping her eyes on you. You flinched a little. Chara wasn't stupid.

"It's nothing. I'm fine...just a little tired. That's all." You smiled weakly at your crush. She sighed and began to walk towards you. Your eyes widened.

"(Y/N),  I know that something is up. Don't lie to me." Chara muttered. You gulped. "Please, tell me what's wrong. It doesn't matter what it is about." She stopped in front of you, taking hold of your hands gently. Her beautiful, crimson eyes looked into yours. You couldn't hide your feelings from her forever. You closed your eyes.

"Chara... I hate doing the genocide routes just to see you. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing you. I LOVE seeing you. It's just... killing my friends makes me feel like a pathetic human being.  At first, I thought that this was all worth it. I think that you are amazing, lovable, adorable... I think you are the most beautiful girl to ever exist..." Tears were dripping down your face. You felt torn and broken. Slowly, your gaze went up to see Chara's reaction. You were shocked at what you saw.

Chara was crying.

"W-why are you crying?" You questioned. You had never seen Chara cry before. She snivelled quietly before responding.

"I know that I've made you endure so much... I'm so selfish. I'm a horrible person - that's why I'm here (Y/N). I have took your soul. I've kept it all for myself and you've allowed that to happen. When I had first met you, I thought that you were an angel...despite for what you have done. I'm a demon. I'm not worth your time, but... I still love you.." Chara sniffed. "I'd give anything to turn back time. The things you've had to go through for me - willingly at that - is unforgivable on my part.".

"Chara, it was my decision to give you my soul. None of this was your fault. I've done all of this because I love you too. I love you more than anything else that I've ever known. I'd give you everything if I could!" You cried. You pulled Chara towards you, and hugged her. You could feel her heart pound against your chest. She shook in your arms, and you shivered in hers.

"Do you regret killing your friends countless times?" Chara asked. You nodded.

"Sometimes. But that doesn't mean that I regret loving you." You whispered. The girl blushed. She was silent for a few moments.

"What if..." she began "I knew a way to reset the timeline back to a pacifist route, Sans wouldn't remember the genocide routes, and you could permanently have your soul without suffering the consequences?"

"W-what do you m-mean?" You stuttered.

"I could edit the timelines, the coding... Your life would be perfect again (Y/N)..." said Chara.

"Would you be in it?" You questioned.

"Well... there's the catch. If you wanted your soul permanently without me affecting you, then I would have to delete myself from the coding. Basically, I wouldn't exist." Chara mumbled, looking down.

"Then I'm fine like this. You make my life manageable. If you weren't there then my life would be boring and miserable." You said firmly.

"But don't you want things to be back to normal?" Chara asked, surprised.

"Of course I do. But I'm not sacrificing you just so I can have a 'better' life. That's not fair on you." You replied. "What if we shared the soul? Or you kept it?".

"If you wanted an actual pacifist route, then I can't have any part of the soul. I may also get...urges...to kill someone, to hurt someone. It wouldn't work out." Chara sighed, wiping away her tears.

"Couldn't I help you through it?" You asked.

"I doubt it (Y/N). Honestly, you wouldn't be able to stop me from murdering certain monsters. Like Sans, for example. I'm too powerful when it comes to things like that..."

"Then why don't I stay here with you?"

"What?" Chara's eyes widened "Are you stupid? Being here is horrible. It's nothing but...well, nothingness."

"It wouldn't be nothing if I was here with you." You smiled. Chara looked at you as if you had Flowey growing out of your nose. "I wouldn't mind being here. If I'm with you, then I'm sure things will work out."

"You really can be an idiot sometimes..." Chara chuckled. You giggled.

"I know."

"Okay then... you can try staying with me here. But if you dislike it, then we use the plan that I suggested." She said.

"I would prefer my plan." You said.

"Alright... we'll talk about it if the time comes. Thank you for always being so considerate." Chara looked at you, her stunning smile beginning to show.

"No problem at all," you said "I'd give anything to be with you."

You were sure that you wasn't going to endure anything more,  as long as you had her.
