I knew it was a bad idea to actually look around. I should have stuck with my friends, made sure to pay close attention to the group. Instead I stared at the tropical island flowers and plants in fascination. It's not like I would ever get another chance to see them in person. I was fucking poor. So when I looked up and I was alone, I shouldn't have been surprised. But I still was. I was lost and alone on some random tropical island. I started to wander around, feeling more unsettled by the second. What if they left me here?

I heard a stick crunch and spun around to face the source. It was my teacher, Mr. Wolfe. He was one of those in their mid twenties teachers. You could tell he had been popular in high school; because he was still hot and chill in his own teachery way.

"There you are, c'mon we have to go, the ships about to leave." He told me, leading the way. He seemed mildly annoyed, probably 'cause he had to come find me. I followed closely behind him, terrified of getting lost. Now I don't know If Mr. Wolfe ever really liked me, I was kind of quiet in class. It was obvious to everyone that I was a geek. It's well known I hate sports, which Mr. Wolfe coincidentally loves. He's a huge hockey fan, and is the soccer coach at our school. But that's besides the point. Mr. Wolfe is the type of teacher that flirts with all the hot girls in class. He's always messing with them. Anyways I was following him blindly. We were trying to find our way back.

"Do you know where the ship is?" I asked, stupidly. He just took the question seriously.

"No, I'm trying to find it." He replied calmly. I could tell he felt a bit awkward being alone with me, but that was a normal reaction. I tended to make people feel awkward for some reason. After about 20 minutes of us silently walking around, we finally made it to the coastline. But there was no ship to be seen. He sighed in aggravation.

"Do you think it left without us?" I mumble asked.

"I don't know." He replied, sounding truly lost. "Let's keep looking." He added. So we ended up walking up along most of the coastline, trying to find a boat, and finally, Mr. Wolfe spotted a ship off in the far distance.

"That was our ship." He stated calmly, sounding completely defeated. I stared off at the ship, getting further away with every second. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"They actually left us." I mumbled. Mr. Wolfe just nodded. He looked torn, and still slightly uncomfortable for being alone with me.

"I guess we're going to have to find some kind of building to contact a ship." He told me, then gestured for me to follow him. I did as I was told. We ended up walking back through the forest, but I started to feel really suspicious. I was getting that feeling you get when someone is watching you. I scanned the area.

"Do you feel that?" I asked. Mr. Wolfe just shook his head. Okay, so apparently now he wasn't speaking. That was fine with me. I inched a bit closer to him, but made sure to leave space. I really felt like someone was watching us. Then, I saw a bush move. And before I could even process it, I had an arrow in my rib cage.

"Shit move!" I yelled, and pushed Mr. Wolfe forward out of the way of the flying arrows. After some running, we were out of that area. I didn't know who was shooting at us, but there were obviously some bad people on this island. I stopped and sat down against a tree to take a minute to catch a breath. I was wincing in pain because of the stupid arrow.

"Fuck." I whimpered. I really didn't wanna take it out myself. Mr. Wolfe looked frustrated and exasperated, but he knelt down next to me to examine the arrow. You couldn't even see the whole head of it at this point, and there was a decent amount of blood. He made eye contact with me, flashed me a worried glance.
