(My nails)

There she was, Zoe Grandal. In the local library. Reading her favorite book again for the fifth time that day. It was just so interesting. She kept reading, until her eyes got tired. She let out a forceful yawn, before putting the book back where it belonged, walking out. She unlocked the bike from the chains, and grabbed them at put them in her small bag. She got on the bike. She sped home, tying the bike to a pole near her house. She locked it safely. She went back inside. She sat on her bed, yawning again.

Zoe woke up with a loud 'meow!!' In her kitchen. She sighed. She got out the bed, walking to the kitchen. Her cat was  there, trying to get her food, she could smell it. Zoe sighed. She grabbed the feline, and lifted her to the couch. She sat her down, the feline fell asleep. Zoe smiled. I'll give it to her when she wakes up again. She thought. She went outside, letting the cold air hit her face. She turned to the pole she'd put her bike. It was gone! She read the note that was taped next to it.

'Sorry. I went to grab some groceries. Mom is still using the car. I borrowed your bike. While you were sleeping I BORROWED the key from your desk. Hope you don't mind ;) sincerely, your brother, David.' It said.
Zoe sighed. 'That's David, for ya.' She said laughing. There he was, on her bike, trying to control it.

'You're the same.' She sighed, continuing. 'You don't get on with riding bikes.' 'Yeah..  I like the car better.' He replied. Zoe sighed. 'You'll get used to it.' She replied. He nodded, unconvinced. 'Nick is coming over for lunch.' David announced. Zoe nodded as a reply. David hummed. 'I.. hate awkward silence.' David said. 'I know.' A car beeped. It was their mom, 'hey!' She yelled, hugging Zoe. 'I haven't seen you since.. A month ago!' Zoe sighed, nodding.

'Nick is coming over for-' 'I know. David told me.' Zoe said. Their mom looked devastated. 'David! I told you I'd tell her! Numskull..' she sighed, annoyed clear in her tone. Zoe laughed. 'It's.. not that bad, clearly.' 'I know, Zoe. But we haven't seen Nick for two years.. it's just that I really wanted to let you know by myself...' she said sadly.

David growled. 'It's done. I told her. Okay?'
