The lonely traffic lights stood isolated as the hand of my watch struck ten. The dead leaves, swaying, swifting and sliding along with the soft gentle night breeze all ended up scattering all about the eerie pavement. The deadly silence and tranquility overtook the buzzing of the city's scurrying sounds creating the feeling of an empty world with just a motionless human body.
There at that moment, I felt the slightest touch against the edge of my shoulders just invisibly passing by but couldn't make out if it was my imagination or reality.
From one of the corners of the street, a black shadowy figure loomed from the distance, head looking down and water dripping from the end of the hair. Observing carefully, I could tell that it was a middle-aged woman with a frail body standing there frozen like a mannequin. Little shocks of chill ran down my spine but I managed to make a few steps forward with the sound of my heart beating vigorously.
"There's nothing to be afraid of," I told myself as I looked up at the sky trying to calm down, but the sky seemed to be blocking the moon leaving just a small patch of light at the part where I was standing. I let my head down after a few quick seconds and searched through the street again. To my horror, the women was gone but i could see the wet footprints leading towards.....towards... ME!!
Just then, a touch of cold icy fingers layed on my neck. I froze. Then spun around.
