Concerned

Henry's p.o.v

So after that... unusual mission, we went back to the man cave. I was still really upset about the whole situation but kept it to myself. "You alright?" Ray asked. "No! who is that girl?" I asked. "I don't know! I have no idea how she has powers and everything." Ray said confused.

"Me neither." I stated as I sat down on the couch.
I noticed that ray checked his watch. "Hey, it's already 1:00AM, maybe you should be getting home." Ray exclaimed. That thought made me really nervous. If my parents see me come in this late, I can't even explain what they will do...

"Oh um... yea, I guess.." I said quietly as Ray places his hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, we will do more research on Thundergirl tomorrow."

What he doesn't know is that, that's not the reason I'm worried...
"Night kid!" Ray said as I said "Night" back to him as I left threw the elevator.

Once I made it to my neighborhood, I was figuring a way to sneek in. Until I heard "Henry?" I looked behind me only to see Pheobe on her front porch.

"Pheobe? what are you doing out this late?" I wondered.
"I guess I can say the same to you to." After that was a bit of awkward silence. "We'll talk about it tomorrow!" I said as I ran to my front porch and Pheobe did the same. All I wanted was to get to my room without my parents seeing me.

Once I opened the door, it was pitch black. I tried to close it slowly so it wouldn't creak, but it did anyway. I tip toed to my room but the stairs creaked as well. My face scrunched up as I was hoping my parents didn't hear. I saw the hall light from upstairs come on. making me panic. I heard someone come down the stairs, and just my luck, it was my mom...

"HENRY! WE'RE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN!?" she yelled angrily. "Uh... I... I" I stuttered over my word. "NO EXCUSES!" She screamed. I looked down at my feet.
"I GUESS I'M GONNA HAVE TO TEACH YOU A LESSON!" She yelled as she held out her fist.

"Oh no!"

Pheobe's p.o.v

As I walked into my house, I closed the door behind me. I saw the light from upstairs come on. I knew I was busted. "Pheobe?" I heard my mom ask with her eyes squinted with her robe on. I nodded in defeat. "What are you doing out this late?" She wondered. "Fighting crime!" I said proudly. "You won't believe it mom, I stopped a criminal by my self... oh, until these two guys came up saying how there the superhero's of Swellview. Can you believe that?" I exclaimed quietly.

"Is their name's, Kid Danger and Captain Man?" My mom asked. "Yeah... how do you know that?" I questioned. "There all over the news here, there really popular." That took me by surprise.

"What?? There really superhero's? How is that possible? They don't even have powers!" I said in confusion. "Well, you don't have to have powers in order to be a hero." My mom said.

I shrugged. "I guess your right, but it doesn't matter anyway, they hate me now!" I said laying back on the couch.
"Why?"
"I kinda was showing off a little bit and froze the kid..." I said as my mom glared at me. "I know! I was acting like a jerk!" My mom nodded and put her hand on my shoulder. "We'll talk more in the morning, get some sleep." My mom said as she got up from the couch. "Night!" My mom said walking upstairs before I said "night" to her. this was some night.

It is the next morning and I am exhausted. I hardly got any sleep. I got dress, at breakfast and head off to school once I said bye to my mom. I went outside and saw Henry come out of his house. He looked almost as tired as I did. maybe even more tired.

I was going to say hi to him until I noticed he was badly limping. I glaced down at his ankle and it was really swollen. I wonder what happened to him. "uh... are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah, why... why wouldn't I be?" He asked tired but nervously.

I can see the pain in his eyes everytime he stepped. I was going to ask him what's wrong, but I could tell he wasn't in the mood.

"I don't know, you just seem... hurt!" I said.
"I'm fine!" He said harshly as we continued to walk.

after school

I realized that Henry had hardly talked at all today. Which concerned me. I was about to say bye to Henry after we made it to our house, but what sound like Henry's mom who called his name from the front porch.

it looked like it startled both of us. Henry got frightened and tried to run up to his house without saying bye to me. I'm so concerned for him. He is always getting injured and looks completely frightened by his mom. I'm gonna find out what's going on.

I saw his mom push Henry inside the house and slam the door. I attempted to sneak up to there front porch. I hid in there bushes and tried to listen to there conversation.

"WHAT'S THIS?" His mom yelled holding a piece of paper in the air. "Were did you find that?" I heard Henry asked. "IT DOESN'T MATTER, YOU FAILED YOUR MATH TEST!?" she screamed. making me flinch. "I... I"  I heard Henry stutter but got interrupted by his mom as she pushed him down to the ground, making my eyes shot open covering my mouth with my hands in shock.

"NO DINNER FOR YOUR PUNISHMENT TONIGHT!" The dad chimed in.

"I'm sorry!" I heard Henry cry out in pain. Even I could here the pain in his voice and I'm outside the window.

"TO LATE FOR SORRY!" The mom yelled as she and the dad kicked him as he was still on the floor.

Henry looked so miserable.
"Why is my son such an idiot?" She exclaimed as they left Henry on the floor in pain.

I can't believe it! Henry is being abused! I new something was up with that family! this is why Henry is always hurt and quiet. I have to put an end to this....
