Taryn
I look up at the full moon. Sigh. So much is written in her beauty, so much I'll never understand. I stand needing to find Rosa, it's time for a pack gathering every full moon we run together as one and participate in the hunt."Rosa, come on, it's time to go." I hate making her go, Rosa never does well around other shifters and she has good reason. I look into her hazel eyes and whiskey colored hair, so similar to mine. But where my eyes are cold and hard, hers are soft and vulnerable. I wish I could protect that softness in her and I will always try I'll die before I watch her turn into the emotionless pit I am.

I listen to the agonized moans while watching the other shifters change. I don't trust these wolves I don't know them but we are safer here than out there, as lone wolves, as rouges. I stand in front of Rosa allowing her to shift behind my body, in privacy. Just as her human form, my sisters wolf is gorgeous. Her fur is black with a creme colored underbelly and a spot between her eyes. I take a deep breath and smell the wild. Rich, damp soil, maple, rabbit, deer, and fresh grass.
"I'll be watching over you sister wolf, I am near." I jump and grab the branch of the tree beside me. Using the momentum from swinging I flip and land on my feet. Extending my claws I climb quickly, higher until I can see the entire packs territory. My eyes glow violet and my wolf pushes at me to let her out. Most shifters inner wolf are just beasts who have strong needs and instincts that they press onto their human half, but mine? She is a whole other entity. We are not one and the same she has different wants and needs she is intelligent, I am different because we share a soul. The hunt had started, I howl to the moon. And soon my sister and each of the pack joins my call. Not in excitement or eagerness but in sorrow for what I lost on this night those sixteen years ago.
