A killer smile - Alex Hayes

Chapter 10

The suns beams woke my up again. I check my phone and it's 6:30, only 30 minutes before i need to get up. I decide to have a shower and get ready for the day.
After about 30 minutes of showering and doing my hair and makeup, I text alex and see if he is awake.
me: "you up?"
alex: "have been for a while, you coming over?"
me: "i'll see you in 5."
I pack my bag for school, making sure i have all the correct school books. I don't worry about making breakfast as i don't ususally eat it, but if i get hungry i can always buy something from the tuckshop (A/N, tuck shop is australian for canteen).
I'm walking over to alex's house and i don't usually see archie. I brush off the thought and continue walking up to alex's door. his drive way isn't massive but the garage is. Before i could even knock on the door, it flies open. Helen stands there (alex's mum) and gives me a warm welcome.
"Hello hello! Mathew has made a coffee for you again and alex is upstairs in his room. Come in!"
I follow helen's instructions and come inside.
"I'm pretty sure Josh wants to do a duet with you sometime. He's just in the room down the hallway to the right. "
I walk down the hallway and find the room with the piano in it. I stand in the doorway and wait for josh to finish the song he's playing until i walk in.
"That was amazing." He turns around and gives me a bright smile. Josh's and alex's smile are the exact same, it never fails to amaze me.
"Come in come in! What's a song you know and we can duet, just quickly!" I think for a few moments. When i was little i use to always sing adele, so i'm pretty sure i'd still know all the lyrics.
"Turning tables by adele?" He searches up the chords on his phone and begins to play.

"Close enough to start a war,
all that i have, is on the floor" my voice is stable.
i feel josh coming and and harmonising around the pre chorus.

"Next time i'll be braver
i'll be my own saviour standing,
at my own two feet. "

We finish the song there as I don't remember the rest of the lyrics.
"Well that was amazing. " Josh and I turn around to find Alex and his parents standing in the doorway. We must have been singing loud. I'm embarrassed but also proud of my voice. I've never had singing lessons, never thought of it. I've just naturally had a voice and didn't really do anything about it, apart from sing by myself and the occasional duet. I stand up and make my way over to alex and his family, josh following me. Mathew hands me a coffee, i take a sip and the amazing sensation wakes me up in the blink of an eye.
"Thank you so much." Mathew smiles.

We all exit the hallway and go our seperate ways. Alex and I make out way to his back yard where the beach is, the others go upstairs to prepare themselves breakfast. By now it's around 7:15. Josh and I spent some quality time together singing. I like josh, he seems really sweet and loving. He's a lot like alex but a little less active.
"What time do you want to head?" Alex asks me. I think for a while, i want to get there early but not too early.
"Leave with enough time for me to say hello to the boys and to get to class early. I need to see our math teacher to talk about this tutoring."
It's wednesday, so that means alex is tutoring me tomorrow if sir thinks i need it. I am in extension maths, so i want to get a good mark.
"Well we will leave in 5. Say hello to archie, he sure loves you." I walk outside looking for archie. I spot him around the Hammick, laying in the sun.
"Well hello there my little boy." Archie looks up, he's so adorable. His silky grey fur and his yellow eyes make him even cuter. I've always wanted a blue burmese. They're the sweetest of cats and aren't feisty. They're loving around humans and loving around other cats.
After some quality time spent with archie, i gather my things and make my way towards alex's car.
"Thanks for having me again!"
"Anytime april!" I here helen yell back. This family is how ive always wanted mine to be, i just wish the past didn't exists.
