barry woke up, looking at the ceiling in the cold prison cell. he was alive... in a state of being dazed, he looked down at his stomach to see bandages covering the area where he got penetrated by adams stinger. he also had some large bumps on his body from the taser. he looked around to see he was alone in the cell, sitting on a makeshift hospital bed. barry got up enough energy to try to tune in his surroundings. it was mostly silent in the cell he was out in, other than a faint banging noise in the cell next to him, along with the occasional squeal. "this must be where they put all the rapist..." barry said, realizing how truly disgusting the act he did to adam was, and also realizing how lucky he was to not have a cellmate. "I need to get out of here" barry thought to himself. he tried to get up, but found that he couldn't get enough energy to get off the hospital bed in the middle of the cell. he was trying to muster up enough courage to call out for a guard when the loudspeaker came on. a raspy, barely legible voice came on. it was the voice of a woman who obviously hated her job, which was no surprise. "its 6:00 am, time for breakfast, dirtbags." the loudspeaker woman said. the gates to the cells flung open, and all these tough bees walked out of their cells (except the one in the cell next to barry, he was a bit occupied.) barry was still laying on the hospital bed, completely vulnerable to any passerby. just as the prison block was almost empty, a female bee nurse came into his cell and grabbed for his bed, she was about to grab the bed and roll it out of the cell, when barry blurted out "hello??"
she looked up in complete suprise and stopped in her tracks. "your awake..." the bee nurse said. is that really a suprise... barry thought, realizing how much more fatal his injury could've been. "y-yeah, I just woke up." barry said. he didn't really try to do that cliché flirting with the nurse, he was only into men (kill me). "you were injured pretty bad" the nurse said "we have been waiting for you to wake up." she said as she started rolling barrys bed out of the cell. barry didn't understand how he was supposed to eat breakfast, but he didn't comment on it. "now that you are fully awake we can get clues" nurse bee said. why would they need clues? barry thought. they were riding down the corridor to the breakfast area when they made a sharp turn, going off track. "uhh, I think we passed the cafeteria.." he said to the nurse, still in his semi-dazed state. "we aren't going to the cafeteria, we are heading down to the detectives office." the nurse said. at this point barry realized that there was definitely something gravely wrong. barry paused for a second, almost hesitant, then asked the nurse "why are we heading down to the detectives office?" " to get clues" the nurse replied. "well what are we getting clues for" barry asked. "adams ca-" the nurse cut off mid sentence "y-you still don't know, don't you.." the nurse said looking at barry as they rolled down the hallway. just as barry was about to ask up a storm of questions, the nurse cut him off "maybe its best if the detective explains this to you" she said as they arrived at the door to his office. "detective, benson is here to see you" the nurse said to the detective in his room "one minute!" the detective said from inside, sounding caught off guard as he tried to finish up the papers he was writing. barry sat on the bed with the nurse outside the detectives room. there was an extremely awkward silence, as barry realized he never even got the nurses name, even after the half hour long ride they shared through the prison. "so, I don't think I ever got your name," barry said to the nurse. the nurse looked back and smiled "you can call me kelly." the nurse replied. barry realized how weird him asking was, considering he would probably never see this nurse again. "barry benson" he said to the nurse, and then realized how stupid him even saying his name was, like the nurse didn't know the name of her own patient. just as they were finished introducing themselves, the detectives door flew open, and the detective appeared, welcoming them in. the nurse positioned barrys bed so be was facing was desk. "thanks kelly." the detective said to the nurse, as she was promptly leaving the room. the nurse closed the door behind her and the detective and barry were alone. the detective didn't even let barry say hi before he immediately started talking. "ok barry, I know your confused, so i'm going to get right to the point" the detective said. barry could already tell the detective was the type of person who constantly talked without letting anybody else get words in. "your friend adam," the detective said with a heavy voice "he's dead." this shocked barry, but the detective didn't even let him comprehend his friends death before spouting out the next price of earth shattering information "and I'm afraid you might not live much longer either.." the detec said to barry as he handed him a file. barry opened the file, unable to read anything on it with the tears in his eyes. "barry..." the detective said to benson with the lowest tone ever "you have bee aids."to bee continued
