I screamed her name into the blizzard , “Kily!”. I cursed under my breath and kept running, the snow and hail pelting my face, until finally I see her silhouette. “Kily…” I choke out ,breathless. She was sitting in the middle of the snow, kneeling and staring at her thighs. I grabbed her wrist and started pulling her back with me to the house. “Damn it Kily… that’s it. Mom’s gone. We couldn’t stop it.” I said through gritted teeth. “Prove it. Get a time machine and try everything. Then come back and tell me that.” Kily sobbed. I didn’t respond and she didn’t move while I dragged her; I didn’t even attempt to move her. When we approached our front door, I dropped her wrist and unlocked the door. She just lay silently on the snow, staring up at the sky. “It really isn’t your fault Kil.” I told her in a gentle voice when I pushed the door open. I looked at Kily for a second, then turned around; when her voice startled me and I froze. “Anzen” she said “If you get a time machine, all I want is to see mom again. One last time.”. I stepped inside the house and closed the door, leaving Kily lying outside in the snow.
