Tessa's POV
*knock knock knock*
I opened my eyes slowly, the sunlight had already made my room as bright as ever. I quickly shoved my face back into the pillow and ignored the knock.
*knock knock knock knock*
The knocks came again but this time louder. I rolled out of bed and open the door. No one. I looked up and down my hall to see who had disturbed my wonderful sleep but the house was completely silent with nothing out of the ordinary except for a envelope on the floor that had 'Tessie' written on the front. I knew that handwriting all to well.I tore the envelope open knowing who it was from
'Tessie,
Happy Valentines Day Shortcake!! I want to make this day one you will remember forever. Get dress and be ready in an hour.
XOXO
Cole'My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. I ran to the bathroom and started up the shower. My mind raced with thoughts of what Cole could possibly have planned for the day. Valentines Day.. if it weren't a year ago this day would mean nothing and I would've stayed in bed eating ice cream and watching romance movies. Cole had been my very first Valentines and I could not be more excited!
After the quick shower I put on a simple outfit, jeans and a white lace top. I barely had enough time to put a little make up and put a few curls in my hair before the door bell rang. The butterflies in my stomach lost control. I grabbed my purse and jacket took one more look in the mirror and headed down the stairs.
I quickly opened the door and the first time I saw was the limo sitting right in front of my house. There was a nicely dressed man standing at the door of the limo and he was smiling
'Miss Tessa Oconnell?' The man asked. I tried to speak but nothing came out. I began to nod slowly and he opended the limo door 'right this way mam.'
I slowly walked to the limo and got inside. There was flowers, chocolates, and beautiful designer bags filled some with clothes, others with shoes. A little piece of paper between two of the roses got my attention.'Surprise Shortcake! Sit back, relax it's going to be a long ride. I got Cassandra to help me pick out some clothes, choose something, get dressed and I'll see you soon.
Cole'It amazed me how great Cole had been. He had go above and beyond ever since we had gotten back together but everyday he surprised me even more. The limo began to drive and I couldn't help but imagine life without Cole. I loved him and he truly loved me. A sparkle from one of the bags caught my attention. I quickly jumped from one side of the limo to the other and began tearing through the bags. Dresses and skirts and blouses every single one was absolutely stunning. I was on the final bag that had the sparkle coming from it. I was shocked to find the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. It was a heart shaped strapless dress, the lightest touch of pink shimmered off of it. My heart knew exactly which outfit I was going to wear.
I wiggles out of the clothes I was wearing and pulled the dress up. It fit perfectly. The pink dress made my skin glow and out of no where grew some confidences. In another bag was a pair of heels that went perfectly with the dress.
About an hour later we were in the city. The buildings grew bigger and bigger the closers we got. After a few turns the limo came to a stop in front of what I thought was the tallest building in the whole city. The limo driver quickly jumped out of the driver seat and opened the door and helped me out.
The building was stories high with giant beautiful glass doors. As I approached the glass door the doorman handed a single red rose and another envelope. I couldn't help but blush.
'Almost there short cake!'
Inside the envelope was also a key with a tag that read 'pent house'
I was immediately red. I could feel the doorman eyes still on me.
'This way mam' he said with a smile. I followed him through the building and into the elevator.
He quickly pushed the button that read 150 all the way at the bottom and left me alone in the elevator.
