Ever since Link had to leave Medli after defeating Ganondorf, he feared he'd never see his childhood crush again. When they were both just twelve years old, Link was forced to leave Medli, and he hadn't seen her for five years. Back at Outset Island, Link had built a hut of his own, but almost never left the house. No one on Outset knew, or could understand why he had been grieving for five years. Link was relatively friendly and polite, but memories of Medli always fogged the back of his mind.

A loud knock on the door made Link jump, pushing memories aside, he went to open the door. Aryll! When Link saw his sister his mood immediately lifted. "Hi Link!" She always sounded cheerful. Aryll had grown into a beautiful young woman, long blonde hair that was the same tone of color as Link's. "Link! Look what I made!" She said after she had settled herself on a straw couch. She pulled out a box and pulled the top off of it. She pulled out a green tunic and the original hat. "Remember when you wore these? You were so little... You saved me!" I made another pair for you! In your size!" There were some adjustments made to the hero's clothes, like being made to look designed for an adult, There was even a sheathe for a larger sword. Link scratched the back of his neck. "Th-thanks... Aryll." He gazed down to the floor. "No problem!" She patted his shoulder. "I'll be off now. You should try the outfit on!" She got up and went to the door. "Bye, Aryll" Link said. Aryll left, leaving Link staring at the ground. Well... He thought. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it on? Link snatched the clothes and walked to the back room. He walked out, fully clothed. The hero's tunic suited him, and it looked more mature than it did when he was twelve. Link looked at his reflection in a mirror. "This brings back old memories..." He mumbled to himself. Suddenly an idea surged through his mind. He opened a small closet and took out a box made from the wood of a palm tree. He opened it and gazed fondly at what lay inside. The Wind Waker. Link picked up the baton and gently swayed it through the air. "Speaking of..." As Link spoke he thought of The King Of Red Lions. Another person he never heard from again after Ganon.

Link thought of an idea. He'd never taken a boat to Dragon Roost Island, because he had to stay with Aryll. But now... Aryll was old enough to look after herself. He made the decision, to obtain a boat, whether he had to build one, find one or borrow, he'd do it for Medli. Link opened his door and walked out, seeing Aryll carrying a large pot on her head. "Hoy Link! Look!" She balanced the pot on her head without using her hands. "Remember when Sue-Belle taught me to do this?!" Link remembered the woman from his childhood, Sue-Belle. Sue-Belle was Aryll's role model. Now, Sue-Belle was crouched in her garden, cutting grass with her husband, Mesa. Link was brought back to reality by the pot on Aryll's head smashing down onto the ground. Aryll flinched. "Oops..." She looked wide eyed at the shattered glass. "Well... I'll pick it up later. I can see you tried the outfit. Like it? It is a little to hot to be wearing it in this weather... Why do you have it on out here?" Aryll asked, looking him from head to toe. "Aryll... I'm going on a... Trip for a little bit." He began, "Everyone's wondering why I've been acting... Err... Strange. Well I'm going to fix it. If I come back... I'll be better." Aryll put her hand up. "Wait... If you come back!? What do you mean if!? You'd better not be doing anything dangerous!" Link shook his head. "No, it's not that... There's a girl I'm going to see..." Aryll nodded. "Okay well... Even if you don't come back... Know that I love ya, big brother?" Link grinned. "Trust me I know." Aryll hugged him tightly. "Promise it's not dangerous?" Link hesitated. "... I promise." He lied.

Link slipped the Wind Waker and other necessities in a pouch. Link set his sail up and went to say his goodbyes to Aryll. Before Link could say a word, Aryll shot up and hugged him the tightest she ever had. "Link please, please, Be careful!" She pleaded, her words almost muffled from digging her face into Link's shoulder. "Don't worry, I will." He stated simply. Link put the last of his bags in the boat and sat in it. He paddled a little off shore and looked back at his homeland that he was leaving yet again, and possibly not coming back. He waved his hand. Aryll waved back to him, but little did Link know, she was crying.
