clarke: i'm so annoyed.
the blonde quickly sent the text to lexa during class. it was free time in all her periods though, to her demise. and the reason was even worse: it was valentine's day. a day just like any other to clarke. but to other people, it was where they would go in sappy dates and share kissed an give teddy bears and candy. but not for clarke; never.
lexa: let me guess. cringy couples, teddy bears, and candy?
clarke laughed, because her friend was definitely right. if someone wasn't making out in the corner, they were eating chocolate.
clarke: exactly. i'm literally doing nothing in every class.
lexa: want me to pick you up? i'm bored so i could use your company
the blue eyes that were glued to her screen lit up immediately. she could be taken out of this place quickly, and hang out with someone who actually liked her. sounded like a plan to her.
clarke: definitely! can we hang out at my place? my mom's not there
lexa: absolutely. i'm coming to get you
happiness bubbled in clarke's heart. she was so grateful to have lexa. with out her, she wouldn't know what to do. waiting seemed to take forever.
minutes later, there was a knock at the door. the teacher, mr. green, opened the door. the student sat up straight when she saw lexa holding out a note to im. people around the room murmured about the visit. then, the teacher called out.
"clarke, you're going home." he nodded at her, and she smiled. she grabbed her backpack and stood up and walked towards the door. people stared and wondered why such a young girl was picking up clarke.
"woo! get a room, fags!" ontari yelled across the class, and people chuckled. green cold eyes turned towards her and raised an eyebrow.
"i advise you to watch your mouth. the last time i 'got a room' it was your mom's bedroom." lexa snapped, then smirked. students started yelling 'ohhhhhhs' and 'you just got roasted' around the class and shaking ontari's shoulders, who looked down in pure embarrassment. clarke was trying to suppress a laugh. the brunette took clarke's hand and lead her out of the class.
"lexa, that was amazing!" clarke piped up, laughing. lexa beamed at the other girl and shook her head.
"she deserved that!" and with that, clarke nodded in agreement. the blonde never realized they were still holding each other's hands. it just felt so natural to her. "clarke... you're still holding my hand." and that's when she noticed, and quickly let go of lexa's hand and placed in onto the back of her neck, a nervous habit.
in silence they walked to lexa's car, where she drove to the griffin household. they didn't play the radio, even though the songs on there were okay. they listened to the brunette's playlist, consisting of some modern day underrated songs and oldies. and they smiled and sang along without a care in the world.
they then reached the house, which clarke opened. emerald eyes admired the house, taking in its size and beauty.
as they sat down, lexa cleared her throat. "i brought candy and soda. care for some?" she held up a can of soda and a heart shaped box of chocolates.
"yes, please." blue eyes were glued to the floor as she took the food. "thank you."
"of course." she placed her hand on the blonde's thigh, making her jump, then relax. she liked to feeling of lexa's touch against her skin; it was always so welcoming to her. shut up! clarke's mind yelled at her heart strings.
"so beautiful, do you have a valentine?" clarke didn't look up at lexa's question until the latter cleared her throat.
"oh- oh you're talk to...me?" the blonde's blue eyes wide as she pointed at herself, and lexa nodded. "well of course not." she mumbled the last part. "who would want me? just somebody struggling with their life, kinda sad, has a disorder, and mostly annoying? who would want that?" she could feel lexa's stare and she turned to look at her with sad eyes.
"maybe i do."
clarke didn't have the time to look at the other girl because her eyes closed naturally. the kiss was soft, gentle, caring. lexa's lips lingered the taste of the chocolate they had shared, so sweet against her own. clarke relaxed as she felt lexa push her hair behind her ear and cupped her face. the brunette disconnected their lips and the blonde reconnected them. she got lost into the feeling of care and happiness; she's never felt it before, not in this way. not in a way that lexa showed her. not it a way that lexa showed her she deserved. they finally pulled away and the green eyed girl took clarke's hand and looked into her eyes softly. "will you be my girlfriend, clarke?" she rubbed her thumb against her hand, making the blonde even more relaxed.
"of course." clarke replied softly and leaned on the older girl. she wrapped her arms around her gently and sighed. the other girl reciprocated and they eventually fell asleep together on the couch; and there was finally a moment where clarke could sleep without worry. she felt something that aren't came to her: happiness.
