I walk down the street and all I can see is an empty world devoid of meaning and purpose. As per usual I ultimately end up at the same bar. I walk through the door and sit at the far end of the bar. The tender gives me what I always get... a whiskey double. I order a few more and once I'm done, I walk out the door. The sun has just come out after some rain so the sidewalks are starting to steam. That feeling of heaviness that always persists after a rain is following me, swallowing up my breath as I hurry home. After shutting the door behind me, I push past the shoes and dirty clothes piled around my washer dryer combo. Stumbling into the kitchen to grab a water is all I can manage before passing out on my sofa while listening to indiscriminate beats on my laptop. The day is over and I am free, until I wake up from my dreams and start over again.
