"Tell me a story" - Jack

"Okay okay, but it is so hard to think of one. Give me like two minutes." - Taylor

"Alright here we go" - Taylor

I don't remember how long ago it was. Hell, I barely remember who it was with. But I know where it was and what she looked like at the time. She had blonde curly hair and she wore a white blouse with little pink polka dots and these jeans that were a little too short for her legs. I could not have been taller than my mother's hip at the time, but that part of this doesn't matter. What matters is that we were young enough to be in preschool, but old enough to the point where our parents would let us play without them hovering over us. So we did what any kid would do...we grabbed a twelve pack of Mr.Sketch smelly markers and went sprinting out of the gates of the playground. We had one thing on our minds then: the patch of daisies in the grass. I went tumbling into it and my best friend got mad at me for crushing some daisies. She made me apologize to them and then we ripped open the packet of markers. She told me that all of the flowers were super special and unique, so I asked her if we should show everyone else that. So we took the markers - my favourite smell was blue raspberry - and we began to colour the white part of the daisies. We did that to every single one and made some of them striped and others with every petal a different colour. I taught her how to carefully break the ends of a flower stem to thread other ones through and we made crowns. She taught me how to pick the petals off and do the "he loves me not" saying about the boys we had crushes on. All was well.

"That's such a good memory. Really sweet and innocent." - Jack

"Yeah I know..." - Taylor

But then we grew up. Well, we grew into however mature we are now, and things changed. I started to like girls and I'm sure she occasionally uses one of the last markers that still works in some school project and thinks nothing of it.

"I only recently remembered this after all, now that you asked me to tell you a story." - Taylor

"Well I still like it. It's a good story. Maybe you should write it down one day." - Jack
