George was sitting on the bed with Jon as the rest of the band (Roy & Mikey) walk in. Roy sat down on the stool & Mikey sat on the floor.
Roy leaned forward & put his hands in his pockets. "So boys. What song did you come up with for our concert on Friday?"
George gulped. His eyes widened. He was so caught up with Jon he forgot about the concert & the song.
Images of the events that happened earlier flashed in his mind. Jon's hands on his body, his soft gentle kisses, & the warmth Jon provided when they had passionate sex.
"George.... George? George!" Mikey snapped his fingers in front of George's face. George did a double take. He shook his head & blinked twice to rid his mind of those images.
"I'm sorry. I just can't seem to keep my head in the game. This morning was...pleasant."
Roy leaned back & crossed his arms, laughing. "Was it now? What was so 'pleasant' about you're morning that you can't seem to focus? Care to share?"
George's face turned the brightest red. He looked over at Jon for help. Jon's arms were also crossed & he seemed relaxed. George pondered how Jon could remain so calm after what happened this morning.
Jon knew George was staring at him but he continued to face in the opposite direction. He also noticed George was speechless. Jon bit his lip & shrugged. "I presume George rather keep that to himself."
Roy nodded. "Okay then. Back to business. George, please tell me after having a 'pleasant' morning you did finish the song for the concert."
Again, George remained speechless. How could he have possibly get out of this one? He hated lying straight to their faces about what's going on.
George stared at the ground. "I-I am sorry. But no, I didn't finish it. I didn't even start it."
Mikey & Roy gave him a vicious look. And just as George assumed, he was about to get yelled at once again.
Mikey threw his hands up in the air. "George! Have you ever put thought into how big we could become? Sure, we are a big deal already. But think about it. Our career will just build up & It's mostly all because of the songs you write. We can't do this without you. You need to stop getting distracted & write more songs! Our career is hanging in the balance because of you."
And just like that, Mikey got up & walked out of the room. Roy soon to follow.
George heaved a sigh and layed down on his bed facing the ceiling. He turned his head to look at Jon, who was staring back at him. He ran his fingers through his hair.
"Look George, I don't know about this anymore. I love you. I really do. But if our relationship is becoming a distraction, we can't go on like this. Our career is at stake."
George sat up. He cris-crossed his legs & folded his hands in his lap. He stared at Jon. "Jon please don't ever say that. I will try to be more focused, I promise."
Jon got up off the bed. George did the same. George grabbed Jon's arm & looked him in the eyes deeply. "I know it's hard to keep this secret. Trust me, I know."
George suddenly moved Jon's hand to his heart. "Do you feel this? My heart? It beats for you, only you, just you. We can make this work. We always do."
Jon smiled & nodded. "You're right. We can."
He removed his hand from George's heart & put it on George's back. He pushed George's back slightly so that he was against him. And only then did he kiss George.
God, George loved Jon. Every kiss proved it. He continued to kiss Jon. He didn't care about the missed songs he didn't write, or the time he should be spending on the songs, or the band's constant worries about their career.
It was just Jon. It always has been. Jon made Culture Club meaningful. Without him, George wouldn't know where he would be.
