But we have a problem Mr. Zakir, Monday we have a meeting with AMS company where we have to provide our quotation with the cost and quality quantities of the project we are intending, as you fired the 4 people from the cost department who did the quotation" I said. Murmurs started in the room.

"Ms.Veronika for temporary be the head of the cost department too and direct the workers so that we can complete the quotation and I will also help in directing, is it okay with you," he said in a firm voice. I took some time for me to digest the information.

"It's okay with me" with that the meeting got dispersed.

I went to the cabin and given CFO responsibilities to my secretary Simran and said to inform me if it's important and headed towards the cost department, they were in chaos as they don't have a head to lead.

 Mr.Zakir has also joined me.I said to the team members that I will be directing them till they hire the cost manager and about the present emergency of quotation for which we have to work overtime. I gathered the information which will help in quotation and got to know about the team members and their capabilities and went to my cabin. I made a list that to be done and by whom, according to their capabilities.

Suddenly I remembered about the CD and called Simran 

"Hello Simran"

"Hello Veronika"

"How did you get the CD?" How did she get the CD, when cost department people has stolen it.

"Mr. Kartik had given me, he said it has the presentation, I checked it before entering the conference room. so, I got late to the conference room," she said. I was shocked by hearing this.

"Anything else he said" I enquired.

"No, he just gave and went away"

"Okay, see you tomorrow" with that I hung up.

Mr. Kartik is my best friend in the college, but we parted on bad terms. Her girlfriend accused me of their breakup and left him. At the same time, the psycho (who is my nightmare) was behind me so I ran away without confronting him. Till now we never talked with each other even though we work in the same company. I heard knocking on the door and came out of my thoughts.

"come in" With that, I saw Mr. Zakir entered the cabin.

"Thankyou Ms.Veronika," He said with amusement I his eyes. I just smiled.

"let me honor you taking you for dinner tonight as Thanksgiving," he said with a hope in his eyes. Is he asking for a date?

snap out Veronika what are you thinking I mentally scolded myself.

"sure, but when we successfully complete this assignment, that is on Monday"

"Okay, sure, When are you leaving?" Mr. Zakir asked.

"I was about to leave"

"Me too" we went to the lobby and parted away to our apartments.

After reaching home, I played with Zee, Had dinner and retired to bed. I should thank Mr. Kartik tomorrow for saving me today, by this thought I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up with the alarm. I dragged myself out of the bed (by the way, who likes to wake up in the morning, As sleeping again after switching off the alarm is the best feeling in the world). I did my regulars as usual left the Zee at Bhabhi's place and reached office.

As soon as I opened my system message popped up from Mr. Zakir to meet in his cabin as soon as I arrive. So, I went in the cabin by knocking it.

"Good morning Mr. Zakir"

"Good morning"

Ms. Veena entered the cabin later.

"coffee" By saying, she kept the coffee in front of us. I raised my eyebrow to her as she is not assigned to bring coffee for me too.

"Mr. Zakir has said that he is with you, so I brought for you too"

"Thank you, " I said with a small smile.

"So is everything is going as per plan," she asked.

"Yes, thanks to Ms. Veronika for handling it and now if we go as per the plan, we can almost complete the work today. " he said by sipping his coffee.

"Now I should go and check on other things, " I said completing my coffee and throwing the empty cup in the bin.

"Sure," said Mr. Zakir with that I walked towards my cabin.

Today went by blur with work now it's already 7.00 everyone left except me and Mr. Zakir. We both are sitting in his cabin finalizing the each and every element of quotation.

Next chapter will be Zakir's POV what he thinks about Ms.Veronika don't miss it.
