The pressure is on.
"5, 6, 7, 8," Michelle counts us in, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8....." We have been rehearsing nonstop. Getting ready for Regionals, the biggest dance competition we go to all year. It is the qualifier for Nationals, where all the regional winners from Canada compete.
Our studio has three "troupes": A-Troupe, B-Troupe, and J- (Junior) Troup. Only A-Troupe goes to Regionals so you have to audition to get in. There are only ten spots in A-Troupe so only the best of the best get in. This year we have seven girls and three boys. Michelle and my sister Emily are the dance captains. They both choreograph our routine for Regionals. Most often there is only one dance captain and that's how it started here but Michelle asked Emily (the previous dance captain) to be co-captain with her and she accepted. The other girls in A-Troupe are, Stephanie, Chloe, Tiffany, Giselle, and me (Riley). The guys are Eldon (Michelle's boyfriend), James (my boyfriend), and West.
