01, Welcome to Matronius

It was the year 6846 on Matronius. Both suns were out and the sky was a clear, purple colour. Everything was in order as usual, the streets filled with people and shops open.

In the small town of Vegrid, a man named Egryn Jeburae was working on his latest invention in his lab, in his elaborate house. The walls were white with blue lights surrounding the edges of them. The floors were black stone and the lights floating near the ceiling.

People on Matronius looked human like. They essentially were but had a difference to us humans on Earth. These people (commonly known as Matroians)  could use more than the small percentage of 10% of their brains, contrary to what we can. This differed between person to person. It was based off of genetics. If your parents had the brain percentage of 20%, it was likely that you would have the brain percentage of 15-25%. It was estimated that only 2% of the whole population of Matronius had 100% of their brain power. This in turn, made them extremely intelligent and could do so much more.

To discover what percentage they possessed, when Matronians turned 13, they would all be given a necklace. It was called a Grayble. It would, once put on, glow to a certain brightness. Before glowing, the Grayble was black. The brighter it glowed, the more brain power you had. The brightness was then measured and depending on that Grayble, was where you were destined to live and work. It was against the law to be parted from your Grayble and if seen without it, you would be placed into essentially a prison.

It was different places on Matronius that were sectioned out to people who had a certain percentage of their brain, useful to them. Vegrid had the range of 50-70%. Egryn had the full 100%. He was unique. It was that one person of 100% were allocated to each town, village and city to be able to run it and invent all that the town needed. Every person who had 100% were known as the Kanabs. Egryn was Vegrid's Kanab.
