It was a chilly yet beautiful morning in the city of Maple Park, birds chirping annoyingly for all of its residents to hear. The sun was up and peering in through windows inside of houses, starting the days of the many people woken up by its blinding light; take the teenage boy who was peacefully lying in his bed for example.

Kicking away the sheets that had tangled up between his legs as he slept, Kahoot groaned as he rolled over, rubbing his eyes sleepily. He swung his legs over the side of his bed and stood up, the hard wood of the floor cold against his feet. Hissing slightly at the sudden change in temperature, he made his way over to his closet to get dressed.

Today is the day that Kahoot starts at his new school, and to say that he was nervous would be an understatement. Since he had been homeschooled all of his life, this would be his first time ever going to a public school. Even though he had seen quite a bit of what to expect from movies and such, he knew that those kind of things were sometimes exaggerated.

He ended up picking out a simple white t-shirt and jeans from his drawer to wear, and headed to the bathroom to finish getting ready. As he looked at his reflexion in the mirror, he scrunched up his nose upon noticing his untameable hair. Try as he might, he could never get his messy brown strands to come even close to doing what he wanted them to do. Most of the time, he just ended up running his hand through it and wishing for the best, like he did today. After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he decides to go and make something to eat.

As he wandered down the hall from his room and made his way into the kitchen, he could feel a knot forming in his stomach at the prospect of actually going to a real school. Kahoot was so nervous about how today would go that he was practically shivering. He pulled a cereal box down from the cupboard to have for breakfast, and went to go get the milk out of the fridge. He didn't even like cereal, but he figured that it was the only food that he'd be able to stomach right now. His hands were shaking so badly that he almost spilled the milk while pouring it onto his cereal.

"Nervous?"

Kahoot turned to the voice and saw his mother leaning against the archway, drinking her morning coffee in a light pink robe.

"No," he lied, taking his bowl of cereal to go and sit down at the table.

Not taking that for an answer, Kahoot's mother pressed on. "Not even a little bit?"

In response, Kahoot just shot her a look. With a sigh, she shook her head slightly. "Okay, okay. I'll leave you be." She walked over to him and kissed the top of his head. "Have a nice day today," she told him in a sweet voice while walking out of the room.

"You too!" he yelled after her. Once he was done with his breakfast, he glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and realized that it was probably time to go. After putting his dishes away, he puled an oversized yellow hoodie on over his head, laced up his green converse, and took a deep breath before finally heading out the door. Since his house was within walking distance of the school, and the fall weather was perfect right now, he decided to walk.

As he walked along the sidewalk, the knot in his stomach started to ease a little bit. The wind was blowing softly and the colours of the fallen leaves were wonderful to look at. "Maybe this won't be so bad after all," he thought to himself. The school wasn't too hard to find: it was practically a palace considering it's size and ancient architecture. Even though he had seen it before in pictures, Kahoot couldn't help keep his mouth from falling open as he took in the beauty of the building once he arrived; it was truly astonishing. He had to double check that he at the right place, but he knew that it was because the words Shamrock High School hung above the main entrance. Ever since he was a kid, he was facinated with the shapes and forms of building and how it all came to together to form beautiful pieces of art, and this was no exception to that. For at least 5 minutes he stood admiring it, wondering if he'd ever be able to create something like it one day. After all, once he graduated he planned on doing just that: being an architect and creating things. Realizing that he'd been ogling at the building for quite some time, he briskly walked inside, not too keen on being late for his very first day of school. Ever.

You've never really liked Mr. Adams. You don't really have a reason why you dislike him, but it's a feeling in your gut. The unmarried middle aged man who's been a teacher at your school for many years now has begun to show signs of aging in his appearance. Grey hairs mix his otherwise brown ones on his scalp, and a few wrinkles have started to line his face. Other than that, he was an averagely good-looking man with sharp facial features, if you ignored the prominant scar that went from his right eyebrow straight through his eye and ran half-way down his cheek. The scar effectively made him blind in that eye, but his other eye worked fine. Both eyes look cheap and hard, and are such an icy blue that they're almost grey. Even with the scar, the main thing that intimidated people was his height; this guy was tall asf. On top of that, he was always sharply dressed and he radiated so much authority that everyone was practically forced to fall silent as soon as he entered a room.

Whenever he received new students in his class, he made sure to give an intimidating first impression so that they knew that he was the boss was around here and that he deserved to be respected. Most students stayed out of his way anyways, and under no circumstances did anybody dare oppose or argue with him. He was probably the worst teacher for Kahoot to have for the first time ever, but alas, things aren't fair and bad things happen.

Once he made it through the entrance, Kahoot attempted to try and find the office. He quickly realized that the interior was just as complex as it looked on the outside, and he found himself hopelessly lost. After wandering around pointlessly for a bit, he finally stumbled upon the office. There, a quiet secretary printed out his class schedule for him and gave him directions on how to get to his classes. Thinking that he would remember what she said, he set out, finally excited instead of nervous at the prospect of this new experience. Apparently he took a wrong turn at some point, because the class he was looking for was nowhere to be found. He looked at the clock on a nearby wall he realized that he would most likely be late for his first class. On his first day of school. Ever. Completely exasperated, he circled around with his shoulders hunched and let out a loud sigh that practically screamed 'I give up.'

As you walked down the halls that you've grown familiar with in the past year, you notice a boy running his hands through his hair looking defeated. Chuckling to yourself, you make your way towards him. "Need any help there?" you ask, and when he looks up at you you swear that he's looking at you like you've just saved his life. He shoots you a kind smile and it's so adorable you can't help but blush a little.

"Please," he replies, seeming to perk up at the possibility of someone helping him, and it almost sounds like a whine.

You reach out your hand and motion for him to hand you his schedule, and once he does you realize that you share two classes with each other. "Nice, we're in the same class the first period, so if you'd like you can walk there with me right now."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it," he tells you sincerely.

"No problem."

You both walk towards the class together in an awkward silence, until you realize that not saying is probably considered rude.

"What's your name?" you decide to ask him.

"I'm Kahoot," he replies, and with a very bad Canadian accent he continues with a grin, "what aboot you?"

You can't help but laugh a little. "That was horrible," you say jokingly. "I'm y/n".

"Well, y/n, I'm very pleased to meet you" he extends his hand out to you and you shake it, the awkward silence broken. A few seconds later you both arrive at the class, and you walk between the desks to take a seat at the very back. To your surprise, Kahoot joins you and decides to sit on your left.

Slowly, other students begin to trickle into the classroom, and when Mr. Adams walks through the door he ushers one kid in in by smacking him hard on his head with rolled up papers he'd been carrying. The poor kid winced a little, and walked to his desk with his head down while Mr. Adams smirked slightly. Seeing the shocked expression on Kahoot's face, you get a bad feeling that he's going to start something. You hurriedly try to tell him to not mention it, but just as quickly his expression shifted into one of anger and he locked eyes with Mr. Adams.
