Berahempur is a male-dominated village in which women gave no rights at all... Girls aren't allowed to be born and therefore the wives of the males in this village are kidnapped and brought to them and are treated like slaves... I know... Brutal right??
Characters:
Shivani - A simple girl... orphan... raised by mama-mami (uncle-aunt)... very well educated and has a medical degree. She works in a hospital in Mumbai.
Rangeela - A ghulam (servant) of Veer, his maalik (master). Rangeela was brought up as a ghulam of Veer in this family and is very loyal.... so loyal to Veer that he would do anything for him or Veers father, Sarkar, even give his own life..
Sarkar - Veers father leader of village.
Gulguli - Sarkar's wife (absolutely evil to her daughter-in-laws... believes in traditions of the village wholely.
Maldawali - older daughter-in-law... has evil intentions.... wants to seduce Rangeela (her own husband is not interested in her)
Delhiwali (Rashmi) - mid daughter-in-law... very nice simple hearted... was forced to marry her husband and is tortured many times.
Balam - Rangeela's best friend (like brother)
